Rainbow Tint does not honor the "lifetime warranty" that they brag about when you come in to purchase window tint to be installed on your car. Let me elaborate. A few years ago, I had a 4 door sedan (7 windows) tinted at 20% with the Protect Gard film that they were using at the time. Originally, I was satisfied with the tint installation job that Rainbow Tint completed. I thought that they did a decent job, without any scratches, bubbles, or lint debris behind the film. It looked great for awhile. After a few years, the tint began to turn blue, and would occasionally look purple if given the right ambient lighting. Also, my rear window is starting to bubble. I do not have any bubbling or peeling on my side door windows.



Recently, I remembered about the "lifetime warranty" for this product and looked through my files. I was able to find the original sales receipt with the Protect Gard warranty, as well as Rainbow Tint's business card that specifically states "lifetime warranty on any time purchase." About two weeks ago I visited the Rainbow Tint shop and explained my situation and showed the installer my windows. He asked me what I was using to clean my windows, and I explained to him that I have been suing Stoner Invisible Glass, which states that is is "safe for tinted windows" as well as ammonia free. He also asked me if anyone else had ever cleaned my windows, which no one has. He said he would call me back.



I had not heard back from anyone at Rainbow Tint for over two weeks, and decided to give them a call yesterday. I spoke with the business owner (James) who explained to me that they no longer offer a "lifetime warranty" because "people use too many crazy things to clean their windows." I tried explaining to the owner that, at the time of my purchase, I was sold the tint with a "lifetime warranty" and it even said so on the sales receipt and business card that I was given at the time of the installation.



All in all, I have the proof right here that states that Rainbow Tint provides a "lifetime warranty on any tint purchase," yet they refuse to honor it at all.



Unfortunately, my opinion of this business has changed due to their lying, manipulative, and deceiving business practices. I will not return to this shop for future tint purchases because of their refusal to honor something that was originally promised at the time of sale.



Lastly, I called Protect Gard window films and spoke with their customer service department. I discussed my issue with them. They told me that Rainbow Tint in Hammond, IN only purchased 3 year warranties for the film that was purchased and that they must have intentionally deceived me by telling me that I would be receiving a lifetime warranty with my tint. Apparently, James specializes in the art of lying.
