Provided by YP.comBeautiful setting, great service, tasty food. My family and I love to get the lobster rolls. Buttered rolls filled to the brim with lobster meat. YUM!

Provided by YP.comFrom the road, the building looks simple and unpretentious. Inside is a large, rustic, open space with a long bar, wooden tables, and chairs. There are big windows and a deck overlooking the bay and the ocean beyond.
The menu is sizable and features some seasonal selections. The fare is pricey. We decided to forego the namesake chowder and touted lobster roll in favor of grilled fish tacos, that day's special. These were modestly priced relative to the menu items. The serving included two tacos and a small side of cole slaw. The tortillas were fresh and warm, the chunks of fish appreciable and grilled to perfection. The pre-applied sauces and accompaniments were too busy and cloying for my tastes, overpowering the flavor of fresh, grilled fish. I removed much of what I could from mine and enjoyed them more. The cole slaw included onions and green peppers. I preferred it to the standard cabbage-carrot-and-semi-sweet-dressing variety.
Though the grilled fish tacos made a fine lunch, my curiosity was piqued by some of the imaginative appetizers. We shared one of seared sea scallops with a fresh green pea puree and a sprinkling of tiny pea sprouts. It turned out to be delightful. If the rest of the fare was prepared with similar skill, I could understand the prices a bit more.
Service was inconsistent. We observed two other tables receiving top flight service from different waitresses. Our waiter was cool, nonchalant, and indifferent to our experience. This is something Sam's had better fix. One cannot justify the cost of dining there if the service and the food are not exceptional.

Provided by YP.comI love great seafood & was raised on it growing up. We had Bake Oysters Rockefeller, Steamed Manilla Clams, Fried Calamari, New England Chowder, Caesar Salad and of course a couple of glases of Pinot Grigio wine. The designated driver drank soda of course. All I can say it was the very best in a very long time. The french bread was so fresh & of course I used it to soak up the wonderful broth of the steamed clams. The calamari was the freshest I have ever had. We had a nice window table. The service was great as well. I will go back in a heartbeat.
