Great welding school!! Jamie is a very knowledgeable instructor as well as a great all around welder. They gave me the skills I needed to get ahead in the trade I wanted to get in. Thanks to them I can start my journey as a first year local 597 Pipefitter apprentice!! Thanks Calumet!!

Best school I have ever attended in my life. If you want to learn welding this is where you need to be.

I may have had to commute over 60 miles a day just do go to Calumet, but this school in my opinion is one of the best out their. Jamie knows what he is doing and does everything he can to see you succeed. Even my instructors at the 597 Training center love the courses he offers. Trust Jamie's teaching methods and you won't be disappointed!

This school was hands down the best experience for me. The instructor Jamie is a great welding but also a great teacher. I went into that school not knowing anything bout welding and I came out a tradesman. I got so much knowledge but most important thing is to never stop and give up. Everything I did was to try to get better and better than the last time. Take advantage of all the welding you can, you can use as much material as you can, just don't waste. I miss this school and would go back on a heart beat. Just remember it's not what you are today it's what you are tomorrow. Sign up for this school you won't regret it. I already told 4 people about this school and they went to this school after I told them. So give it a try, it will make you a real welder...

My time at Calumet Welding Center was a wonderful experience. The instructor, Jamie Shaker is a wonderful teacher and he took the time each day to make sure I stayed on track and learned as much as possible. There was always answers to any questions I had and whenever I didn't understand how to fully do something I was shown over without any hesitation. Thanks to Renae Kondrat, i was able to get my first job before my course was over, I would highly recommend the Calumet Welding Center to anyone looking to start a career in welding.

Really good experience. I learned a lot more than I thought I could in 3.5 months. The instruction was great and really helped me in getting the job I have currently.

Calumet welding center was the very best school and by far the best decion I have made. The staff was beyond helpful with getting me enrolled while using my GI Bill. The instructor is the very best (he won instructor of the year) and it shows why everytime you walk in there. Everyday was an awesome learning experience. Job placement was far beyond anything I could have found on my own. I finished school on a friday and started a job as a boilermaker on that monday. Top notch school and top notch people.

The Calumet Welding Center is perhaps the finest institution of trade instruction that exists on planet Earth. I attended this prestigious school on the recommendation of an advertisement on a placemat I observed at a local greasy spoon diner, and upon first entry for my introduction I immediately knew this was a place for like-minded individuals. I therefore pursued my curriculum with vigor and a firm belief in the teachings of Jamie the instructor. His nationally recognized status as the almighty deity of metal-working is reaffirmed with every graduate of any of the various programs he instructs. He is, without doubt, the hardest working and most knowledgeable man on the subjects of welding, burning, gouging, artistry, and general practicality of the entire metal-working industry. Never did a question go unanswered, nor a student go ignorant in his presence. In conclusion, I can say with absolute certainty this fine organization will continue to dominate the training of metal workers for generations to come and will, in time, be forever known as a place that from whence you came, forever shall you be, a welder.

Not only is the instructor great at what he does that staff is friendly and will help you in anyway possible. I highly recommend this school if your interested In welding.

I would not recommend this place to anyone. They said I could join the program I made my payment. I got a call an hour later saying I could not join the school because of something they didn't list in there requirement. They are liars and they make up there own rules as conveinient to them. Extremely disappointed.

I took the four process welding course, it was great, got plenty of welding experience and they never once ran out of welding materials or new ideas. Jamey was a great teacher, he was very determined to make me and my classmates successful. Vince was also a great teacher. Probably best decision I have made and if your thinking about welding, this is the place to go.

I recently took a MIG welding class from Calumet Welding Center. I had a great experience. The school is really designed for students interested in pursuing a career as a welder. Although I am more of a hobbyist they were very accommodating to what I was wanting to get out of the class – a solid understanding of the MIG process. They exceeded my expectations in every respect. Basically the school is built around the old saying that “practice makes perfect” because from the moment you walk onto the shop floor you will practice welding until your hands fall off or your welds are perfect. The instructor is excellent and his dedication to his occupation and his students is apparent. I met several students who were taking the full welding course and they were also pleased with the product that Calumet Welding Service was providing. Whether a hobbyist or someone interested in pursuing a career I highly recommend this school. You will get a massive amount of welding practice.
