Boarding at Red Star was my first time boarding a horse and it was the worst experience! The whole property is run-down and the pasture is not large enough for the amount of horses grazing on it. Half of it is sloppy mud with tons of manure that never gets cleared out and the other half is overgrown with weeds. The indoor arena that's promised is inaccessible due to storage of the owner's boats and personal equipment. The owner is very overbearing and rude to anyone who doesn't take her advice in terms of riding/horse care/etc. The day I sold my horse, she threw my belongings on the ground, implied to my buyers that he was a bad horse and I was ripping them off, insulted my buyers to their faces, and called me very rude names. Definitely not the level of maturity or customer service I expected from an adult business owner. Stay away from Red Star Stables, no matter how nice the pictures make it look or the owner may seem!

Do not board horses at this stable, the owner does not care anymore and has lost interest. What once was a gorgeous facility is now falling apart, this is sad. WAY to many horses grazing on few to many acres, rule of thumb 1 acre per head (horse), there are 20 horses grazing on a little over 10 acres of grass, you do the math. Bad place, bad people, stay away.

I have seen the Stables go from first class to now showing signs of being run down. The owner is not as visible and hands on as she use to be, bedding was changed out and fresh regularly, now it is changed infrequently to the point of little seen and more black matting showing. The mats are showing age and are the primary source for soaking up horse urine, if that is possible. Not trying to be critical, the property is beautiful, the stables were impeccably ran, that is not the case anymore because the owner appears to be disinterested. As far as feed goes, a previous review on the pasture suggested weeds and lack of ground cover. I would say that the pasture is in fact over grazed, the owner appears prudent at trying to manage this but has far to many horses grazing on few to many acres. The horses are supplemented hay and grain so they are not starving. If you want to stable show horses this is not the stables for you.
