Cares Contracting LLC is GREAT! We’ll hire Cares for our next big house painting, repairing, or restoration project.

They painted and repaired the outside of our 108 year old house. They did an excellent job painting three colors on the stucco, wood trim, exposed rafter ends, and the window sashes. They wielded their electric sanders with a light touch that was sensitive to the original woodwork. But, they still prepped the house for painting better than the two previous painters we hired.

Cares planned the work and coordinated the painters, carpenter, and material delivery so efficiently that they finished the project quickly, at a very fair price.

They repaired areas of rotten wood as sparingly as possible. Rather than rip off the whole porch and start over, they carefully cut the bottoms off several rotten pillars, cut three feet off ends of the floor boards, replaced a rotten beam, then put it all back together again with just the right amount of new wood. It is beautiful. You can hardly tell were the new floor boards are, which spindles they replaced with new, custom made, ones, or where they replaced the bottoms of the columns. Now our porch railings are STURDY.

The Cares carpenter built a completely new roof on top of a leaking, flat roofed, bay window that we installed 30 years ago. Cares new roof looks like it must have been there originally.

They also replaced our old, decrepit, exterior cellar door with a new, steel one. It looks like it could have been part of the original house.

Cares was very responsive to our desires, tastes, and quirks. They recommended replacing our original, wooden, double hung, windows with modern, more convenient, “newer better”, windows. We preferred the old windows, even if they needed some repair. Our old windows have lasted over 100 years. With Cares painting, they should last another 100!
