At Allergy Partners of the Upstate, we pride ourselves in taking the time to understand each patient’s concerns and work effectively alongside our highly skilled support staff to make certain we provide the highest quality care available.

Allergy Partners physicians are trained in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of problems like asthma, allergies, and other disorders of the immune system. Common medical conditions that allergists manage include environmental allergies (mold, dust mites, animal dander),  allergic rhinitis (hay fever), asthma, immunodeficiency, urticaria (hives), atopic dermatitis (eczema), drug allergies, chronic cough, food allergies, stinging insect allergy and eosinophilic esophagitis.  A board-certified allergist/immunologist can dramatically improve the quality of life for patients with these conditions resulting in decreased emergency room visits, acute doctor office visits and days missed from school or work.

Some of the common symptoms that suggest you may have allergies are runny nose, sneezing, nasal congestion, itchy nose or palate (roof of mouth), postnasal drip//throat clearing, sinus pressure, sinus headaches, itchy eyes, chronic cough, shortness of breath, chest tightness, wheezing, hives or welts, itchy shin or swelling; particularly the lips, tongue or eyes.

We will obtain a detailed history, perform a physical exam, and determine the best personalized and comprehensive treatment plan for you. Our physicians will provide our patients with the highest quality, evidence based, and cost effective allergy and asthma care possible.

Effectively controlling asthma and allergies requires planning, skill and patience. The allergist, with his or her specialized training can develop a treatment plan for your individual condition. The goal will be to enable you to lead a life that is as normal and symptom-free as possible. A visit to the allergist might include:

Allergy Testing: The allergist will usually perform tests to determine what allergens are involved.

Prevention Education: The most effective approach to treating asthma or allergies is to avoid the factors that trigger the condition in the first place. Even when it is not possible to completely avoid allergens, an allergist can help you decrease exposure to allergens.

Medical Prescriptions: A number of new and effective medications are available to treat both asthma and allergies.

Allergy Shots – Immunotherapy: In this treatment, patients are given regular injections to the allergens that cause their allergy problems. Gradually the injections get stronger until you reach your maintenance dose. In most cases, the allergy problems get less and less over time.

Allergy Drops – Immunotherapy: Drops made up of the patient’s allergens are taken at home daily to help reverse allergy symptoms. Although an effective and common treatment overseas, allergy drops are considered “off label” in the U.S. and are generally not covered by insurance.

This group does not test for spices, so might want to save your money . I also ended up with a bill for $347.90 and we have 2 different insurance plans!

Do yourself a favor especially if you want to spend your money wisely. My wife and daughter wanted to see an allergist to see what they where allergic to and having Blue Cross Blue Shield State she called and was told that if our deductible was met which it has that our visit wold be under 20 copay and she set up the appointment. We arrived on the day and she and my daughter was seen after about 3 hours they finished being stuck by the pins no big deal that's the treatment they went to the window and was hit for $347 dollars and my wife explained both deductibles had been met for the year but they did not want to hear that so we paid it reluctantly. Two days later both my wife and daughter started having allergic reactions my wife's not so bad but my daughters was bad enough to be concerned, the school called and stated daughter was having issues so we called these people (my nice way of putting it) and they said bring her in we will look at her that the fee would be under 30 dollars because deductible had been met (even though this was from the previous visit and should have been covered). We took her in and they where quickly in and out jokingly acting like it was not anything they had done (like i figured they would) using every excuse in the book that it was not from the 80 something injections they gave her just 6 days prior and the symptoms coming on within two days of being treated, so we went to check out and after fiddling with the computer for 10 mins and acting like she was correcting payment info wow they hit me with a 43 dollar charge. I said i don't understand i just paid you 347 dollars less than six days ago and both times you told my wife not to expect to pay 30 dollars and she states well you have a 12 dollar balance on your bill. What the h-ll?
You haven't even had time to bill ins yet and your saying i still owe you from last visit and to top that i stated lady my deductible has been met twice now and yet your still saying i cannot pay my copay. She says well when it gets back from insurance if you over-payed you will receive credit from our office. You don't understand i don't want credit to your office what happens if i don't need it or use it. How can i owe you 12 dollars. So to make a long story short I really hope these ------- sleep well at night and enjoy that is the last dime they will receive from me and ill be in contact with the insurance company i'm sure they would love to hear this. So as i stated at the start do yourself a favor and look elsewhere i sure wish i had 390.00 out of my pocket for nothing and i do mean nothing. They are rude and the front desk is a joke. I'm not the only one who feels like this i seen the review left by another. You do not treat people like this and sometimes you have to bite the bullet a little and take one for the team you can't win them all, they know they where wrong for this and you could tell it. The lady kept saying i'm sorry. No don't be sorry i just hope they pay you well enough to put up with the crap your going to get if this is how they are going to do business.

Do not bother with the Bear Drive office. This office deserves zero stars. If you go to this office, expect to wait over an hour just to be seen. When I go, I am never in and out within a reasonable time. Even when there is no one in the waiting area. While you're in the waiting area, take a look at the dusty, nasty, black air vent in the ceiling. I was aghast when I looked up one visit and saw this horrible thing staring down at me. This is an allergy clinic for Pete's sake. The patient rooms are old and dingy. The circulated air in the office doesn't smell clean and I am sure it is not filtered in any way. The front office staff are rude and unprofessional. They all have attitudes and take offense with mistakes (they make) that you bring to their attention. They will literally laugh in your face. When you bring this to the attention of the doctor, he laughs it off. This place is a joke. I refuse to ever go back. I wasn't treated with any dignity or respect. Especially by the front office staff. Then, they expect me to pay for my visit when I leave. They should be the one paying me for having to put up with their unprofessional behavior. BTW, I was forced to give a 'star' rating on this web site. This doctor's office doesn't deserve the one star that I had to give...
