Second chance failures..

A few years back, I hired Dave’s Pools to close my pool. The tech they sent (Colin, Cullen, not sure) was extremely rude and had a vocabulary limited to 4 letter words. While it wasn’t directed at me, he was having baby mama drama, it was bad enough that I had to shut windows and redirect my kids. I didn’t rehire Dave’s as a result. I switch to Frey Water in New Palestine and loved it (thanks Randy!)

Unfortunately Randy retired and Frey’s no longer service residential pools. So I called Dave’s to close my pool last winter. I made sure their team had more options than a foul mouthed sailor (they mentioned the previous guy was no longer working there). They came out when I wasn’t home and was able to close the pool without incident. Or so I thought.

While trying to open the pool, I discovered that they removed 3 plugs from the non working water heater. In doing so, they broke the casing because it was rusty. Zero of the previous techs (including one from their own company) ever pulled the plugs because the unit wasn’t working. Problem is that the plugs won’t go back in now.

So I called in to get this remedied. After getting the run around for 2 days, Morgan called back and said the owner, Chris, said I would be charged a service call to fix it. The fix is a simple bypass that would take an experienced person 30 mins tops.

So instead of making the mistake of giving them business again to fix the problem they created and to close the pool again this fall, I will try someone else. I’ve been referred to Pool Care.

Wish I could give them a zero. I phoned for service and never got a scheduled appointment. I informed them that I have dogs in the yard and they would have to call before coming. They came to open pool without appointment and had to wait while I came home from work early to put dogs in. They told me I needed repairs so I asked them to put me on the schedule. They again came out without an appointment or an advance call and I had to leave work early again. They actually charged me $100 to wait 15 minutes because of their mistake. They also broke my in-line chlorinator and refused to replace it. I will never use this outfit again. The girl on the phone actually called me a liar. Terrible service.
