UPDATE: The Circuit Court of Lake County found Mr. Threadgill liable for the damages he caused to my home when I hired him during my remodeling project. A monetary judgement was ordered in my favor. Collection procedures were filed following judgement. Please read the entire review and look at the photos of his work. Then, you can decide whether you would want this contractor to work on your home.

Mr. Threadgill responded to my complaint in this review as though he was so concerned, and gave himself a 5-star review to boost his ratings. The truth of the matter was that he told me this was the best he could do.He challenged me to take him to court, which is what I did. He said he looked forward to presenting his case. There were several court dates scheduled, none of which Mr. Threadgill attended. The case proceeded in his absence. I could understand why he did not want to attend. The evidence against him was clear.

This company painted the exterior trim and updated my kitchen cabinets. They did not power wash or scrape loose paint in areas, This was brought to their attention, but was ignored. They installed crown molding and end caps. They literally destroyed the cabinets Apparently, this expert in restoration does not know how to install molding. The crown molding was just pieced together with short stock. There are large gaps that he just caulked to hide the mistakes. The nails used to secure the molding on the end caps were to long and are protruding inside the cabinets at least a 1/4 inch, and are embedded into the shelves making it impossible to adjust them now. There are over 100 nails protruding through the inside of my cabinets. We complained, but were told this was the best he could do. He told us that he would come back and "Patch" the areas of concern. I will not accept a "Patch job" when it should have been done right in the first place.
Reviews help the consumer. Unfortunately, in this case, it was not a favorable one. My mistake was hiring Mr. Threadgill in the first place. Other potential customers need to be informed of one's experience so they do not get ripped off like I did. The photos of his work speak for themselves. Would you want this work done to your home?

Mr. Meadie,
I apologize that in the year since your initial review you are still finding yourself troubled with my work.
To recap the situation: I was hired by Mr. Meadie to complete the painting of his gazebo, exterior trim, interior ceilings, and cabinet end installation in September of 2016. While my contract requires an initial deposit for work to be completed, I did not receive a deposit from Mr. Meadie. Nevertheless, we completed the contracted work in a timely fashion and received payment upon completion. I’m unsure as to why someone would write a completion check in the amount of $4,216 for work poorly done or as you claim “not completed”. I have attached copies of the email where you state my company “Did a great job”. Unfortunately, I am only human and mistakes are often made in my line of work. This is precisely why I offered on multiple occasions to rectify the situation but was denied the opportunity. I am sorry you feel the need to personally attack not only my business, but my character as well, but I wish you all the best. My offer to fix any ‘wrongdoings’ still stands should you choose to accept.
