By the nature of the business, auctioneers have to be open and honest in order to win the trust of the consignee and the public. It would be easy for an unscrupulous auctioneer to take advantage of the situation using family & friends, or other means of undue enrichment. Our dealing with YAP leads us to the conclusion that you're better off looking elsewhere. We contacted them to look over some high end furniture for consignment. They came out twice, looked things over, got excited over the possibility of the auction, and then when we changed our mind, presented us with an outragous bill of over $1000 for ridiculous and nonsensical charges. If they are that underhanded before the auction, I cannot imagine how they are afterwards.
