Never again

Dr. Diaz was my two daughters' PCP for several years. Dr. Diaz is awesome but we have had other issues in his office:

My one-year-old daughter was prescribed an adult only prescription by Karen. It's a really good thing that mistake was caught by the pharmacist at Walgreens.

My older daughter had tested positive for for salmonella through Good Night Pediatrics who forwarded the test results to Dr. Diaz's office. A receptionist called me to tell me that Karen had reported the forwarded test results as normal. I had the receptionist look at the results again, positive for salmonella, of course. If Good Night Pediatrics hadn't called us with the positive result, we would have taken Karen's reading if those same results as truth and our daughter never would have been treated for salmonella.

More recently we discovered that my younger daughter's shot records were filled out incorrectly at the hospital when she was born. The date for her hepatitis b vaccine was placed in the wrong spot. Now it appears that she never received that shot at birth and on her shot records it looks like she did get a shot, which is never given at the hospital, in the hospital on her birth date. I do believe this is something that should have been caught by one of the several nurses that have looked at her shot records in Dr. Diaz's office.

Be Careful

I have been going here for awhile and Dr. Diaz is a nice but the office makes a lot of mistakes. Different people give me different appointment times and the receptionist can be very rude. I went to get a prescription filled from there and the drug name was spelled wrong and could be one of two different drugs. The had to fax the office twice and the office told them to fill the wrong drug! Worse, the drug they told them can make depression work and I'm bipolar so it would be very bad for me to take without a lot of supervision.
