Medicine has been a lifelong interest of mine. Many of my family members were involved in the medical field, but none had taken the challenge to become a physician. During college, I considered obtaining a PhD in the science fields, but felt a strong urge to interact with people. Urology has allowed me to pursue both a surgical and non-surgical branch of medicine. I believe that care of each patient should be individualized to that patient. While medicine has evolved into a science that treats the “disease”, as a physician, I feel we need to stress the art of medicine. It is our duty to explain the process to the patient and determine the best course of action for that particular patient. Outside of the office, I am a father of four children. Most of my outside activities involve outdoor family events. My family is very involved in both water sports and snow skiing. We enjoy time at Lake Gaston during the summer and at various ski venues during the winter months. In addition, I have spent the last three years as Scoutmaster for my sons' Boy Scout Troop.
