I've been going here for lunch or coffee for at least 2 years. This small mom&pop cafe is a treat! Easy walk from my office, good sandwiches, even better coffee although salads seem overpriced.

Really nice mom and pop shop in Glendale. Came here with a friend on a weekday lunch and it wasn't crowded. It has an outdoors seating area or you can sit inside.

Ordered the breaded chicken panini and it was pretty tasty. It was a nice size and not greasy.

Jazz, soccer & great sandwiches

Worth the trip. Good sandwiches accompanied by jazz music and World Cup soccer if it's playing. Check it out!

Quintessential Mom & Pop Place

Great fresh sandwiches, particularly good Pastrami. A great selection of soft drinks. Top it off with real Espresso and watch Euro Soccer while you eat. Love this place.

The Name Says it All...

I'm not so sure about this place. I mean, it's off the beaten path so parking, even at lunch time, was ample and available right in front, and their menu has a wide variety, but I prefer to have my food served without attitude \u2013 from the staff and the patrons.

A patron who must have placed a phone order was called to the counter as I was waiting nearly pushed me out of the way as I stood waiting to pay for my order. I hadn't realized that he'd been called to the counter. Then moments later another guy brushed past me to get to the bottle opener - I had no idea it was there - and literally pushed me to get to it. He only said excuse me after I'd nearly fallen backward after catching my heel on the rug beneath my feet.

As for the food...I ordered the Italian Sub and it was served on a round, toasted roll. Thankfully they toasted the bread only, as cold meats, lettuce and tomato do not make for a good toasted sandwich. The meat and cheese seemed fresh enough, but for $6.15, there 'wasn't nearly enough of it. I also paid a $1.25 for a bag of chips clearly marked 99 cents.

Not a place I'll likely visit again.

Soccer - and Sammiches, too!

A colleague and I had about 35 minutes to leave our office on Brand Blvd, grab and bite and get back for a meeting. Normally, we'd walk down Brand and grab something, but time was of the essence AND it was hot outside. We'd originally set out to look for another deli we'd heard about on Central, but we ended up at Big Bite instead. Parking was easy - right on the street in front of the place (there are meters, so bring change).

Once inside, we were transported to a soccer lovers dream. A fairly large screen TV had the attention of about a half-dozen or so fans, sitting around eating sandwiches and such, enjoying the game. The overall scene is a bit grungy, but the selection seemed promising, so we ordered.

I had an Italian "Sub" served on a round Italian roll. The bread was lightly toasted panini-style, with fresh mortadella, salami, ham and capicola, all with a mild Italian dressing. For just over $10 bucks, I got a sammich, a big bag of chips and an Orangina. The sammich was good - not mind-blowing, just good - though I might have preferred a traditional style roll.

I wasn't impressed enough to have the urge to go back, especially since there are other sandwich shops nearby, but it's good to have options.
