beware of Julie Griifiths

Julie Griffiths is a "social worker" at Baldpate. She is literally the most self righteous, insensitive, and unprofessional women I have ever encountered. During my stay a few years back I was suffering severe anxiety that was making me physically sick. She sent me to a post prison women's shelter in the inner city for "aftercare". I became suicidal and hopeless. I left and returned to Baldpate in hopes of better treatment. I am not a criminal. I was very deeply depressed and self medicating with benzos.
Upon my return she started harassing me, humiliating me, and belittling/bullying me in front of other patients. I suffered panic, diarrhea, and other physical side effects from the stress.
I come out now with this because since that time I sought really good care through Beth Israel Hospital and have now been clean and sober for 3 years. I cannot believe this woman was allowed to treat vulnerable, unstable people so poorly. It is truely a trauma I will never fully forget.

I had an OK time in detox. I was kept pretty comfy, the food was good. Being allowed to smoke in that difficult time was unexplainably important. The counselors were nice, the aftercare set up has been amazing. I will say though, there were times I felt I couldn't make it to the next round of meds and the comfort meds they used in between dosing made me not able to breathe well. They also cut my dose down far faster and sooner than I was told they would. The doctor also did not see me to approve the start of meds til very late in my second morning- ouch. But all in all...clean place, nice people, comfy, good food. Lord hope I stay clean (2 years) but IF i had to go back...i might go again there

I worked there from 1989-1999 and it was the best years of my life helping others Truely fighting for their lives Some staff mistreated patients and I would stand my ground and fight for those I believed were being mistreated I don't know who is still there but for some it was easier putting you in 4 point restraints rather than talking you through an issue in which I believed was more personal I enjoyed talking with the patients and have changed many people from being sad and unrealistic to being happy and realistic I just wish that I had never left but in the end I couldn't work in an environment where the establishment was money hungry

Beware

This facility should be shut down! Dr trivedi specifically should have his license revoked. A abusive man who uses fear and threats to get desired outcome. He threatened my mother (patient) my family and staff all while we were in middle of family crisis. He put my mother in danger medically and should not be treating a fly! Stay clear folks... Better facilities to place loved ones in. We walked out worse than when we arrived!

I stayed there twice, few year...

I stayed there twice, few years ago.. the staff at that time treated me OK, but the nurses/doctors were a joke. all they did was feed you librium so as to keep you from wanting to do anything. I truely believe I may not have needed to go into rehab a 3rd time if had gotten better treatment. I actually requested to be transferred to 'the bottom of the hill', so could get the education about my disease [alcohol], many times the last week was there. al I was told was ''there are no beds!'' as I continually WATCHED others get admitted, that were much worse off than I was. seriously, that place was like jail..Hampstead treated me like a human being, taught me some of the things I needed, made suggestions to help me change a few key things needed for a better life, and did me some actual good..

BaldPate offers such a fantastic opportunity for help in addiction, The staff is absolutly awesome. You get out of it, what you put into it. If you have the desire to stop the "Merry-Go-Round', then talk with a staff member here at BaldPate.. I did...and it saved my life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
