Great program with terrific instructor

Our son is very rambunctious but his instructor, Ms. Kandi is patient and persistent. He is always excited about the class b/c the environment is so exhilarating. His skill level has grown but most importantly he is having fun. I love it!!!

Tara has been my privates coach for a while and i absolutely adore her! she's one of the best coaches ever. She's not negative! She pushes you to be to best you can be. She's taught me so much. She's sweet and 100% honest with what you need to do and what you're doing wrong. She's very professional.

Love ya Tara!

This is where you want to take...

This is where you want to take your child(ren) to cheer. There is no other option available for our family because this is the best. They not only talk the talk, but they walk the walk. It's one thing to SAY you are a christian facility and another to show it by how you treat your children, how you conduct your business and the integrity and composure they show even when they are lied about and to. They refuse to join in, cower to or contribue to any lies, but in fact prove them wrong by their actions. My childs skills have GROWN as she has be corrected on the wrong way skills were previously taught. She thrives and loves the environment she is and loves being a part of Aviator Allstars! You will regret going anywhere but here, I know I did!

I scheduled my son's 2 year-ol...

I scheduled my son's 2 year-old birthday party at this gym and gave a $50 deposit. When we and my guests arrived on Saturday, there was NO ONE there. They had FORGOTTEN to write down our party. There was no way to call anyone either. We had to barge in on Chick-Fil-A and have his party there. Not to mention all of our guests had to drive to the gym then leave and drive to Chick-Fil-A.

I talked to the owner on Monday and got my deposit back. She was apologetic and wanted to know what they could do to make up for it. I told her they could give me half-off of another birthday party. She said she didn't know about that. She was just wanting to maybe give us some free pizza. Are you kiddding??? $10 worth of pizza is going to make up for them ruining my two-year-old's birthday party??? She said she would have to check with her husband and call me back. I NEVER HEARD FROM THEM AGAIN!!

Aviator Allstar Cheerleading

This is by FAR the most awesome allstar cheerleading gym in this area! I have 2 children that participate in the program and have for 2 years now-from the beginning of this program, and coming from a different allstar cheer program there is no comparison. The coaches are the most passionate, caring coaches you will ever meet and yes they DO push our children to strive to be their best but they do it in such a way that does not demean or demoralize them and my kids WANT to do their best--not only at competitions but at practices also! We practically live at the gym because not only do the kids want to be there but the parents also have such great relationships and friendships we all look forward to being there and don't mind the time we spend there! We go to competiions in NC, SC, GA, have been to TN and we all look so forward to these weekends because we do so many things together while there! We are planning an "Aviator Cruise" in June of this year when competition season is over and we are going to have a blast! So if you want your children to have the BEST allstar cheerleading experience possible by the BEST coaches around, come check out Aviator and see why we all love it so much!

My daughter cheers for Aviator at First in Flight Gym. This is the BEST program we have ever been involved with. The coaches are great and are continually looking to make routines cutting edge. Aviator travels and competes in top notch competitons in NC,SC,TN,and GA. I also have never seen the amount of support given to these athletes by the parents. Great gym for Cheerleading come check it out.

First In Flight Gym

My daughter is an Aviator cheerleader at First In Flight gym. She looks foward to going to practice and LOVES her coaches. With the coaches we have it's more like being part of a big family than just a gym. The coaches, parents and cheerleaders are one big family. We LOVE AVIATOR ALLSTAR CHEER at First in flight gym.

Aviator Allstar Cheerleading is awesome!

First in Flight is the home of Aviator Allstar Cheerleading. I can't speak to the gymnastics side of the gym because my children aren't a part of that program or their coaches. However, I can speak VOLUMES about Aviator Allstar Cheerleading.

The Aviator coaches are, without question, the most talented, qualified cheer coaches in the Charlotte area. They love their athletes (and I mean athletes - if you don't think cheer is a sport you haven't been coached at Aviator!) and are continually lifting them up, supporting them and cheering them on as they gain new skills and abilities. That's not to say they have low standards - just the opposite. There's an expectation of excellence at Aviator but the coaches give their athletes unconditional support in reaching those goals. They do not make it easy, but they also don't give up. That shows in our competition schedule as well.

We don't shy away from the "it" teams in the Southeast US. We compete against the best teams allstar cheerleading has to offer this side of the Mississippi river. We warm up with the teams backstage that we watch on youtube and ESPN. We go to the largest competitions offered within driving distance of Charlotte, NC. Some of these teams are like rock stars to our kids - and Aviator has no qualms about taking them on head to head.

But here's the thing, it's not about winning at Aviator - it's about being the absolute best athlete you can be as well as showing unconditional sportsmanship to yourself and others. IF that happens to translate into trophies (which it usually does) all the better :) It's the most positive thing ever for your kids to see the "IT" teams, and know that they were competitive, if not actually better, than those teams on that day. You can't buy that kind of smile on your child's face and you can't buy that kind of confidence for them either. Last year was Aviator's first year in existence and every floor they touched (with THAT kind of competition) they came away with 1st place banners and National Champion trophies - from every competition. So, far that trend is unbroken in 2010-2011.

The parents are the most welcoming, supportive and fun group of people I've ever met. We've been there since the day Aviator started and in the two years Aviator has existed the "Flight Crew" is our family and First in Flight is our second home. We prefer to spend our time with our flight crew friends as all of us support all of our children, because as all of us will attest, every child that wears red, black and silver is MINE when I'm in that gym. Aviator is family. They act like family and the coaches treat the cheerleaders as if they are their own children. We're even taking a cruise together this summer because the Aviator family even wants to vacation together!

I can't say enough about this program or the people involved with it. If you're looking for THE allstar experience in the Charlotte area, this is the place to be. We have athletes that drive from Matthews, Fort Mill, Rock Hill, Charlotte, Clover, Weddington, etc. to be a part of this program because it's worth the drive.

They have a Facebook page they update daily with tons of videos and pictures that show just how awesome they are. And if that doesn't prove it, come down to First in Flight gym and check out a practice or come by for Fun Gym friday - but beware - once you've seen this program, you won't see any others.

Bad Experience

I recently pulled my children out of First In Flight Gym. My experience was that my oldest daughter, who had never tumbled or taken gymnastics before, was put down and made to feel guilty because she wasn't able to do what the other kids were doing. The coach yelled at her, never encouraged her, or gave any positive feedback on what she could do to improve. She wasn't even in the competition classes, like my other children. She was in the Non-Competitive Recreation Classes. My other children had similar experiences in their more competitive classes. When I was in the gym, everything seemed fine. But when I would just drop my children off, I would hear of how they were treated by the coaches/teachers and then by the other students, who just followed the leader. I honestly believe that my children are not the only ones being exposed to this verbal abuse and would advise anyone to take a closer look.

Looks can be deceiving.

As a fairly new gym. First In Flight could take some lessons from other established gyms. I encourage you to look past the structure and really get to know who your children are spending their time with. First In Flight is filled with great salesmen and saleswomen. It's where their heart is that I would suggest they work on. It is one thing to have fun with the children and another to care about the children under their care. I urge you to really take a close look at who your children are being taught by and left with.
