Founded in 1896, Adelphi University is one of the first institutions of higher education in Long Island. The university offers degree programs in arts, science, humanities, business, social welfare, clinical psychology education, and nursing and health maintenance. It serves more than 8,300 undergraduate and graduate degree candidates. Adelphi University works with a team of over 1,260 full- and part-time faculty members. The university maintains a library that offers a range of educational resources, including books and magazines. It provides sports activities, including baseball, basketball, tennis, swimming, volleyball, golf, bowling, cross-country, and track and field.
