3D DESIGN AND DRAFTING is located in the beautiful Ozark Mountains near Branson, Missouri. Founded by its owner Erwin McQueen a second-generation homebuilder and Licensed Florida Residential General Contractor with 35 years experience in Engineering and Construction. Erwin grew up in the building business with his father building fine custom homes around Michigan. After graduating from Central Michigan University with a B.S. in Ed. degree in Industrial Education, Manufacturing and Construction Erwin went on to teaching for a short period before moving on to becoming a Product Design Engineer in the automotive and truck and bus industries. All the while remaining involved in building with a number of personal projects. Erwin's last engineering position was with American LaFrance as Engineering Manager for one of its fire truck manufacturing plants in Ocala, Florida. Just after 9-11 American LaFrance closed the Florida plant and Erwin decided to go back into the home building business where he started Citrus Custom Homes, Inc. which was very successful and was rapidly establishing itself as one of the finest builders in Citrus Co. Following the housing crash Erwin decided to get out of building in Florida and move to the Branson area where he and his wife are building a home.  Having experienced first hand the issues involved with building in the rural areas of Missouri with very lax or nonexistent codes Erwin could see a real need for very through plans and knowledge of both construction and engineering principals to assure compliance with both local and National Building Codes using proven building and engineering practices.   3D Design and Drafting was founded with the purpose of protecting it's customers by providing them with complete and through construction documents depicting the way the house is to be built. In addition 3D Design and Drafting also offers on site Construction Consulting and Management Services.  Erwin also decided to use modern 3D Drafting and Design programs from Chief Architect combined with AutoCAD. This provides his customers with a virtual 3D computer model of the home allowing the customers to see photo realistic renderings of their home. This makes it much easier to visualize the home than traditional 2D line drawings.
