These medical doctors and their qualified staff know what they are doing ! As a patient for more than 7 years, I can attest that I would not be alive today were it not for early diagnosis of an aneurysm of the aorta during a routine physical exam. No matter the location, Palms Medical Group, is there for its established patients. Have always been treated with courtesy, compassion and professionalism.

I ONLY gave this establishment...

Palms Pediatrics on 8th Ave. in Gainesville is a freaking JOKE, "Dr." Sandy K. Sanders and his staff of nurses in particular. I implore you, do NOT take your children there. At my son's 18 month visit one of "Dr." Sanders' nurses came into the room and proceeded to grill my husband on why my son wasn't brought in for his 12 month visit (he was) and stating that he had a whole bunch of shots to get (he was due for 1 immunization). As it turned out, they had never updated his immunizations on floridashot.com and only printed that record before coming in. My husband, being the informed daddy that he is, said noooo way, you better check your records again. Moving on... for the last two plus years my almost four year old daughter has been plagued by a recurring infection that ultimately result in painful abscesses on her bottom. My husband and I have taken her to "Dr." Sanders at Palms for it no less than five times over the last year because of this issue and he has continued to prescribe her the same thing over and over. On the third visit to his office for the problem I questioned if perhaps she should see a dermatologist or other specialist to determine what exactly the infection is and what is causing it; he wrote us our prescription and sent us on our way. On not one single visit did they suggest taking a sample of the discharge to be cultured and not once did they consider trying a different course of antibiotic to treat her. Yesterday she developed her worst outbreak yet so we took her to Shands Pediatrics After Hours. Upon merely looking at her bottom, the doctors at Shands determined that the abscesses needed to be drained and they wouldn't even consider writing an antibiotic for her without taking a sample to be cultured. She had a follow-up today with her NEW pediatrician who drained the area again, and the preliminary results of the culture came back VERY positive for a staph infection. Turns out that the antibiotic the idiot doctor at Palms was prescribing her (clindamycin) wasn't even the right medication AND isn't something that any Shands affiliated doctor would EVER prescribe to a child because it wreaks havoc on the stomach and digestive tract. The infection that continued to colonize inside her body due to the lack of proper treatment could have turned into MRSA and, worst case scenario... well, I don't even want to say it.

For the record, I ONLY gave this establishment one star because it wouldn't let me post it with none.
