Joseph Williams Elementary School is a coeducational institution that serves students in kindergarten through fifth grade. In addition to the regular subjects, the school conducts classes in physical education, art, music and Spanish. It has a staff of more than 70 full-time certified teachers and paraprofessionals that includes custodians, Spanish teachers, database managers, guidance aides, art and music professionals, media specialists, and health and physical education instructors. Joseph Williams Elementary School operates the Magnet Academy for Gifted Students, which offers an interdisciplinary curriculum that is focused on individual educational goals. It has a library and media center that offers a collection of more than 6,500 books on various topics, including animals, biographies, mysteries, fantasy, humor and adventure. Joseph Williams Elementary School is affiliated with Alachua County Public Schools and is located in Gainesville, Fla.
