Roundup BBQ

Someone rated this previously & mentioned that in the '80's this place was in Manchester Center. Sorry to disagree but it was the old Farmers Mkt. at Divisadero & Hwy 99. There were quite a few places inside, guess you could basically call it the first food court in Fresno! Directly across from Roundup was a small place, (you'd place an order at the counter, pick it up & eat at one of the tables in the square or take it home) To this day, I can still taste the pork & beef barbeque sandwiches (pork WAS the best!). Their side salad complemented the sandwich with it's sharp & tangy dressing. It was heaven. I began eating there when I was 20 & am now 59! It was so yummy and still is. In addition, right across from Roundup was a little Italian place (Rossi's) with some of the best Italian food I've ever eaten. Homemade pizza taste, with the pizza dough rolled out by hand, it was as good as my mama's! In fact, my mama, who was born in Rome, Italy use to make their sauce for pasta when I was just a little girl. That's how long their history is in Fresno. When the Farmer's Mt closed it was a sad day until Roundup opened up on Bullard, north of First in the mid 80's. And lo and behold, the owners (think they bought them) ended up with the recipes from Rossi's! So in addition to getting great BBQ food, you could get the same fabulous, rustic, italian dishes of yore, lol! and now, here we go for the 3rd time, yum! Great, great food that transports me back to when I was, much, much younger. Manga, manga!!
