Edison-Bethune Charter Academy serves students in kindergarten through grade six. The school provides academic instruction in math, science, reading, writing, spelling and vocabulary, social studies, health, and special and physical education. The school has a parent advisory council that provides planning and implementation of a variety of fundraising activities for the benefit of school. It is a part of Edison Schools, which has an annual enrollment of more than 285,000 public school students in over 15 states. Edison Schools is affiliated with the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools, National Council of Education Providers and the Center for Education Reform. Edison-Bethune Charter Academy, established in 1999, is located in Fresno, Calif.
