My in-office experience was just okay. I am pleased with the outcome of my scleral shell, though it did take two separate visits to get it right.

What I can't live with. ....EXTREMELY unprofessional behavior from billing. I have REPEATEDLY asked for a call back from a supervisor, with no response. There were two items on my June bill that my insurance denied (because there were three claims for the same line-item) of $392 each. Billing asked me to have my husband's employer file an outside appeal for these items, which I did. Today I just received a bill, not only requesting me to pay these duplicate charges from June, but also $1,176 ($392 x 3) from my March appointment for the same reason. These charges were never mentioned to me before, AND they are duplicate line items AGAIN. I find it appalling that even with GOOD insurance, this shell has cost me significantly more than my past ones when I was paying 100% out of pocket. Very sloppy (unlawful??) billing tactics.
