Grace Industries is a family-owned business that develops and manufactures hydrocarbon detectors and other safety products. Founded in 1974 by James Campman, an electrical engineer, and located in Fredonia, Pa., the company s hydrocarbon detector is used in gas detection equipment for arson detection. In 1988, the company developed a compact personal alert safety device that would produce an audible warning beacon. The company also produces personnel safety and accountability devices that provide a loud, audible alarm when the wearer becomes motionless, and which transmits a signal to a remote receiver indicating a firefighter is in trouble. The company s subsidiary, Grace Sales, is responsible for product development, field testing, marketing, training, quality control and customer service.
