I recently boarded my 10 month old dog at this kennel for several days and upon returning from my trip to retrieve him I was horrified by what I saw. My dog was soaking wet from being out in the rain and apparently none of the food I left was used to fed him because the container was just as full as when I dropped it off. He was so hungry when we got home he was actually begging for me to feed him right in my driveway. The icing on the cake was a label they had written on his food container wasn't even the right breed so apparently they never even looked his registration papers, rabies certificate, and dog licensee I left with him which all clearly state what breed of dog he is.

I had to feed him in small doses because for the following 12 hours he would just throw up whatever he ate and after two weeks of diarrhea and a vet visit with prescribed medication he is finally starting to get back to normal. Apparently the trauma of not eating or eating the wrong food caused bowel irritation and digestive problems.

Based on my experience I would strongly recommend avoiding this establishment.

I have been boarding my dogs at Aberdeen Kennels since they opened and feel honestly so lucky to have found this place! I was never really someone who loved the idea of having to leave my pet at a kennel, but the owners of Aberdeen Kennels are the warmest, caring people, and also definitely know how to care for and handle pets of all shapes, sizes, ages, and personalities.

But what really sealed the deal for me was that my dog who doesn't warm up to strangers right away, was completely at ease; he happily took the little doggie treat they gave him and then continued to stay relaxed while we talked.

The facilities were clean and the other pets there looked very well cared for, and when I got back from my trip, my dog happily trotted over to greet me with a toy (that they must have given him to play with) in his mouth.

I live in NYC so this kennel is not the closest or most convenient for me to go to, but I would never even consider using another kennel--this one is worth the extra time to get to!

Wow, I just read the only negative review of Aberdeen Kennels, and it is clearly such a pack of lies, that i had to take time out from my work, to tell my truthful story about this fantastic kennel. I am glad that i somehow stumbled upon that review, while searching for something totally unrelated! SO: I have used this kennel repeatedly over the yrs, for multiple dogs---always to great satisfaction! I simply won't travel unless liane and glenn have room for my pets, period. That reviewer must have some odd agenda, dont know. All i can say is, i would gladly pay MORE for the care my pets receive there, and in fact, they have on more than one occasion, kept my dogs a day or so longer than expected, and did not want any extra fees--i had to insist. And forget about trying to compensate them for the extra food, toys, bones they provided! They even gave medicine from their own stock, when i left mine home! Lastly, i recently found out from someone else, that this kennel has taken in and saved--totally out of their own pocket--dozens of Katrina animal victims, and have ended up keeping the ones that could not be adopted out or returned to their owners, sadly enough. Just check them out for yourself, then judge. It is sad that obviously malicious comments like those of that reviewer, could work to the detriment of a facility that the community DEFINITELY NEEDS!!! I am nancy gerson, attorney from fresh meadows queens. Thank you, Aberdeen Kennels, for all you do, and all for such a fair fee.
