Nelson Steel & Wire Company was founded as a family business and remains family owned and operated to this day. The company produces cold finished carbon and alloy steel bars, with rounds measuring between 1/8 and five inches, hexagons measuring between 5/32 and three inches and squares measuring between 3/8 and 2-15/16 inches. Nelson also invites clients to request specialty bars and wire to meet their specific needs. Also offered are thermal treatment services, including normalizing, spheroidizing and lamellar pearlitic annealing, as well as quench and tempering before cold drawing and stress-relieving after cold drawing. The company maintains its headquarters in Franklin Park, Ill. and was founded in 1939.
