Buyer beware--we purchased an amazing GSD from this breeder who had health problems soon after we got him. We contacted David Harris, who said basically, sorry for your luck. He was nothing short of rude in his response to us and offered no help or suggestions. We have talked to others associated with this kennel who have said VERY negative things about him and the way he does business. We just had to put our sweet boy down after spending years and thousands of dollars trying to help heal him. We are heartbroken.

If you're looking for obedience training, they seem to be qualified. If you're looking for a conscientious, empathetic, caring environment to board your pet, look elsewhere. You will not find that here. Upon picking up my pet, I had to take him immediately to the vet. The vet said that his condition was as close to animal neglect/abuse as you could get.

I purchased a puppy for there about two years ago and I love her. I did my homework before I purchased a dog anywhere and all of my research pointed to this place being the best GSD breeders around. When I bought her, they gave me help on a few general puppy things (house breaking, chewing, nutrition info and some bite work tips) for free! Then I brought her back for training and they were amazing! She did things I didn't know dogs could do at such a young age and the prices for training were the best for the amount of training she AND I received! I have even gotten help on preparing her for shows this year. The workers are very knowledgeable about the health and wellfare of animals that most of the time I didn't even need to go to my vet. Overall, Animal Resorts & Training center has saved me a ton of money!

Best facility ever! I left my dogs there for a long period of time and I would do it again any day of the week! They have top notch boarding, grooming, training and daycare facilities. AND when my dogs board there, I never have to worry about them, they have staff that lives on the property 24/7. Their rates are reasonable, even for multiple dogs! I never fear when I have to go out of town because I know they will be in the best of hands!

ARTC is the only place I bring my dogs. They love daycare, training and the staff love my dogs. My dogs get compliments all the time for their good doggy manners, and I can take them anywhere since they've been trained. I know there are bad reviews, and I know there was a change in management that really upset some people who felt it necessary to try to tarnish the new management. I also know that you can visit the facility at any time and take a tour or if your pet is boarding, drop in during business hours and check to see how they are doing. Before giving much thought to negative reviews, call or visit and see for yourself.

There is no other place in the bluegrass region that comes close to the care and training the folks at animal resorts give my pets. All of the staff are friendly and they all know me and my dogs by name. I can make reservations on line. I can buy the best dog food for less than Tractor Supply, PetSmart or anywhere in Lexington. MY dogs are so well behaved thanks to their training that I can take them anywhere and I always get compliments. I know that there are negative reviews for the place but I chock those up to the change in ownership and think that personal issues should be kept personal. Check the place out for yourself and you will be amazed

Animal Resorts is a great place to bring your dog! I have had nothing but excellent care and exemplary training. My dog loves to come on Saturdays to the group training classes, and wouldn't miss daycare for the world. They are always having some kind of event for pets and their owners to interact with other people. It's a fun place to get to know and play with your pet!

I would never recommend this kennel. One experience and that is all my dog can handle. I left her for a weekend stay and she had bloody pads from being on concrete all day, and could barely walk. I was clearly upset, and the staff wasn’t even concerned that there was a problem with her. They just shrugged it off as if it were a daily occurrence. Overall horrible!!

I boarded my dog at this kennel and my dog got injured both times! The staff did nothing but make excuses on both occassions. I ended up with horrible vet bills not to mention my dogs are petrified of the place and the owner. I have asked around and I have met numerous other people that have had horrible experiences both customers and previous employees. I have heard horror stories of how the owner and his son treat dogs when no one is around. I would definitely recommend finding a safer place for your beloved pet!

I will never take my dog to this kennel again! I kept him there for long term boarding, and when I showed up unexpectedly he was 10lbs under weight, and was in horrible condition. I also learned they let him get into several dog fights! Since this kennel has gone under new management it is simply a horrible place to take a beloved pet.
