The landscape division started operation in 1976 with the graduation of the present owner from Purdue University in landscape architecture. From the start this division has operated as a design build firm, generating most of its work from in house designs. Our focus is on specific, challenging, projects like patio installations, water gardens, and comprehensive residential site development. In conjunction with those projects we also offer the design and installation of irrigation systems and night lighting. Since this is a visual business, the internet offers a tremendous opportunity to share with you, photos of our work. We will try to keep these current, so you can enjoy the progress. RETAINING WALLS Sometimes creating an elevation change is necessary for various reasons, some functional and some aesthetic. To provide for this Maxwells use a variety of materials. Pressure treated yellow pine, segmental concrete retaining wall units, and natural stone from various parts of this country area all available to be used on your site. Our most recent material of use, is old street curbing cut from sandstone 60-100 years ago. LANDSCAPING LIGHTING Nothing brings a landscape to life or extends its use more than landscape lighting. Our designers can custom design a lighting package for your home or office. Along with the obvious night time effects, security is also increased through the use of landscape lighting. With the state of the art transformers Maxwells installs, the lighting adjusts its start time with the seasonal day lengths. We pride ourselves in being able to offer out clients a variety of deck and patio options. A patio may be as simple as a concrete surface. Although the shape may not change, a change to a brick, concrete paver, or real stone surface can make an elegant impact on the landscape experience. Stamped concrete or mortared brick can also be arranged through Maxwells. These options provide you with a choice for your individual needs. WATER GARDENING Maxwell landscape contractor is the areas most experienced water garden design and installation company. Featured recently in Water Gardening Magazine, May/June 1997, Maxwells have been installing water gardens long before it became the fastest growing market segment of the landscape industry. Nothing is as attractive and enjoyable as a well crafted water garden.
