Today was my initial appointment with Dr. John Sipos. He and his staff were extremely cordial, and made you feel right at home. Dr.Sipos spent a great deal of time with me explaining the various treatment possibilities. The dental exam was very thorough. He is a caring individual and is extremely enthusiastic about his work. I am confident that he will do an excellent job regarding my dental care. His chairside manner is superb. He is an asset to the dental profession and the Fort Myers community. I would highly recommend Dr. Sipos to anyone seeking a professional and knowledgeable dentist. He is a true gentleman.

Made an appointment for a tooth infection - left side of face was swelling. First appointment everyone seemed nice. I was referred to an oral surgeon to have my wisdom tooth removed because they didn't know if it was the wisdom tooth or molar in front of it that was the source of infection. Oral surgeon informed me it was the molar that was infected, so had the wisdom tooth removed and I then called Dr. Sipos' office to schedule a follow up appointment for my still infected tooth. I was very, very clear that I wanted the tooth treated ASAP as the oral surgeon said it was a very bad infection. The office person seemed unconcerned and scheduled the appointment for about a month later. Everything was fine for that month, infection was contained, no pain. Showed up for my appointment and they took x-rays and began work without really talking to me (or apparently looking at my history in my chart or my x-rays). Well, a little bit into it I asked how long after fixing the tooth would it take for the infection to clear up. The assistant says, "You don't have an infection, you're here for a filling." I tell her yes, I do have an infection, and she says no, you're here for a filling. This goes on for a little while. Anyway, she informs Dr. Sipos who then checks and says yes, I do have an infection, but I was there so long ago he forgot (and again, apparently, didn't check my chart or notice it on my x-rays). He had already started drilling into the tooth, but instead of taking the time to actually fix the tooth he continued on with the filling, despite me being obviously upset and concerned. His only reaction was anger at me for being upset and teary eyed and tried to blame me for what happened. He then charged me for the appointment and gave me a prescription for an antibiotic and told me to take it if the infection got worse. Although, he does root canals, he would not do it that day, and clearly refused to correct his mistake by referring me to someone else, although I was told I could go back there after the root canal for the filling for free; however, after the root canal I needed a crown, not a filling. Anyway, a few days after this fiasco, I got the worst swelling and pain I have ever experienced and the antibiotic didn't touch it. The side of my face and neck were swelling horribly and the pain was almost unbearable. I made an appointment with another dentist who treated me immediately and it all receded pretty quickly. I would NEVER recommend Dr. Sipos to anyone and was really appalled by the way I was treated by the office. I never did get my money back because I just couldn't stand the thought of dealing with those people again.
