I have been using this location since 2011 with 2 units costing roughly $1k/mo equating to an expenditure of almost $90K w/ no missed payments.
In March my businesses were forced to close due to covid and are still not open as I write this today. In compliance with CDC guidelines and as a way to protect my employees and those at Public Storage we remained home for two months. 2 ago I went to hand deliver our payment for the 60 days prior and upon our arrival we were informed the units had been auctioned off on June 24. I contacted District Manager, Kristina Benitez,who has yet to return any of my phone calls, emails, and voicemails for the last 2 ½ weeks. I made it very clear to the location we used that I was not merely trying to “get my stuff back” but was attempting to buy back the various items that my businesses require. I understand we should have updated our contact info but given our in-person payment method, name on the account, and business address located on the checks we used to pay, I assumed there would be some semblance of an attempt.
I spoke with Henry “Hank” Obst, the Regional VP of Operations for this area. He expressed his concerns and assured me he’d look into the situation. It has been 3 days and I have not heard back from anybody including Hank, Kristina, and the associates from that location. I guess if the VP doesn’t do anything about it it’s evident why the behavior of his employees follow suit.

This whole situation not only showcases the lack of customer appreciation but more so the incompetence and total lack of customer service/support to loyal customers such as myself. I understand protecting personal information of the buyers but what I don’t understand is why after nearly 10 years, during a PANDEMIC, I wasn’t given the decency of a heads up prior to the auction so I could have immediately paid.
I will never use Public Storage again and make sure any/ everybody I know is aware of the same.
