Kate has represented our family on two separate occasions. She is extremely knowledgeable in Florida dependency law and our family would not be as wonderful as it is now without her help and guidance. She is an incredible attorney. My family highly recommends. She calls it like she sees it and doesn't hold back. She will fight for you till the end and isn't afraid to ruffle some feathers along the way. Her ONLY objective is a successful outcome for her clients. It doesn't get much better than that!

Kate is one of the few family law attorneys that knows and routinely practices in the dependency courts. On top of that, she is good at what she does. Dependency court isn't fun and it is rather difficult to do anything because there are too many decision makers. There is ChildNet, the Attorney General, the Guardian, the Guardian's Attorney, Childnet's attorney, the educational attorney ad litem, the other parent's attorney etc. etc. If one person has regional conflict counsel, your attorney will never communicate with opposing counsel because it changes every hearing. Dependency is a procedural nightmare and there are a lot of legitimate complaints inherent with any dependency proceeding. God knows I have my own. However, the attorneys that I know practicing in the dependency courts are some of the best attorneys I know. Kate is one of those.

I hired Katherine to represent me in my dependency case to attain my child. She ask for all the money upfront and makes you sign a NON-Refundable retainer which is all great and fine. As the case goes forward she seem to be very proactive an caring set meetings in her small office showed up to court, ect. After about a month into the case I started to notice laziness and negligence for the case it took 3 weeks to receive court documents, I would find out a day before court was scheduled, and even had to bring in my own pictures of evidence to court because she "filed the pictures in the motion and didn't have them on her". I had many issues with child-net and negligence to my child all in which nothing was ever done because 1. The father of my child had an amazing attorney 2. There was nothing she could do but put in a motion that never got heard or seen (was it even done who knows)..It became impossible to reach her on the phone she would be on vacation at Disney in meetings, in hearings, in mediation all day, every excuse you could think of. Rather than just simply call her client she decided it was best she ARGUE and state she never got calls even after I showed proof in my phone records to which her response was "Good for you". Not very caring of feelings or her mistakes. I came in looking for legal advise and help because these are things a person has no idea about! You just want HELP TO GET YOUR CHILD BACK.She decided to resign and withdraw from the case due to indifference's and my lack of informing her about my case and things going on! (ISN'T THAT AN ATTORNEYS JOB) to be in communication to follow up to see how things are going ect but according to Katherine its not, its MY JOB on top of all the classes, courses, childnet, work, family,life who has time to be calling there lawyer to inform them of what they should already know on top of fighting endlessly with case-workers the father for things she couldnt do a thing about. AND she never picked up her phone! So all I could sit and wonder is what did she do all day? Where was my money invested into? SO to conclude this review as a frustrated single mother who was practically robbed of my money I only worked with Katherine for about 4 months and I was only happy the first month. The rest was her verbal abuse towards me in which she believed is OKAY because like she stated to me "I am not a lawyer who is going to pat you in the back".The case still goes on and I was forced to find another attorney. The best part was when she resigned she didn't even use my correct name and filed it to the courts. That should tell you all about the laziness and lack of knowledge in her job to do everything precisely and correct. DON'T DO IT. YOUR FAMILY DEPENDS ON THIS!! THERE ARE A MILLION OTHER LAWYERS WHO WILL ACTUALLY CARE AND DO THEIR JOB NOT ARGUE WITH CLIENTS AN IGNORE PHONE CALLS.
