Youth Shelter Care of North Central Iowa, also known as YSC, is a nonprofit corporation that was founded in 1979. It serves youths and homeless children throughout Iowa. The agency provides emergency shelters and services for boys and girls up to age of 18, as well as their families. Youth Shelter Care of North Central Iowa offers in-home family counseling services for people with mental health issues. The agency offers 24-hour crisis intervention solutions. It provides the Girl's Remedial Learning Service program, which conducts classes related to relationship issues, self-esteem, anger management and future planning for girls between the ages of 12 and 18.
