Unprofessional and Rude Management Company

Unprofessional management company. Manager Lisa was nothing short of rude, combative, and extremely immature. She fought us whenever we asked her to complete a task inside her duties as property manager. When e-mailing with her, she would send short, terse, and unprofessional e-mails clearly upset we were asking her to do her simple, easy job. When we moved in it was very apparent a basic cleaning had not been done- dust on all counter-tops and handrails; carpets were crusty and dirty, we found old nails and marijuana joints laying in it; garage was littered with previous tenants belongings; grass was over a foot long, place was generally filthy. When we mentioned the state of the house, Touchstone sent one single cleaner who was there for 20 minutes during which he lightly vacuumed the carpet. We were forced to hire our own cleaning service and carpet cleaning services. We left the house in extremely better condition than it was handed to us, and yet still, they stripped our deposit away from us any way they could. I would NOT recommend Touchstone to anyone, in any circumstance.

Touchstone is the best property managers

Starting a new development can be very tricky. Amanda, Kathy and the Touchstone team has been highly professional and very efficient. It has been a pleasure to work with them. What a great property management team.

Worst Property Management Ever

Worst Management Company Ever, and dirty. When I bought my home I was delivered governing documents for Mountain Ridge Farms H.O.A. The documents declared that every three years the management company was to be changed to prevent bias, yet Touchstone somehow convinced our H.O.A. board to keep them forever. They are bias, mean, and unfair. Board members in our H.O.A. have carte blanche to violate any governing rule, yet other members are immediately fined. I find it necessary to contact the Colorado Real Estate Commission to file a formal complaint against them for inadequate and unprofessional behavior.

Its not worth it

I read all the reviews and decided to rent with them anyways. Not only did they not respond to any of the requests we made when first moving into the house, but when we moved out they charged us for all of them. We spent days cleaning and still received an exorbitant cleaning charge as well as charging us to get the carpets cleaned a second time after we were explicitly told we get it done ourselves and leave a receipt. If we called we would almost never get an answer and even when they did it was a rude and unhelpful response. Believe me, it's not worth it.

Very Rude, Recommend Avoiding

The staff is resistant to do anything, you will get nickel and dime-d for everything on move out, and they are some of the most unprofessional people I've ever communicated with. Lisa Hernbloom in particular was unreasonably rude on many different occasions, seemingly for no reason other than she can? If you have a choice, please save yourself some headaches and go with someone else.

Use only if you want no service and to be ripped off

This company has been Managing our HOA and horribly. They rip you off on maintenance outrageous costs. Then the contractors they use (without HOA approval) do really bad work. 7 The only possible reason for using the contractors is likely Kickbacks to Touchstone. They also have also failed to implement the new rules regarding HOAs. They lie about homeowners complaints. Don't use Kathy Louderback!

what an idiot Matt Esposito is--shouldn't be in this position, no social skills!

Matt Esposito always referring to a board decision, never gives an answer to anything. Needs to be replaced!!!!

No one is perfect. Not EVEN YOU!

Sounds to me like your friend did screw up. They sent the check to the wrong place, don't wait to see the property- just goes into a strangers house? Alison showed my girlfriend and me property and in fact we were late and lost and she waited for us and was very friendly once we got there. i thought the company was professional and very proactive. We needed cosigners also and it was not an issue. Just because your daddy is a lawyer does not mean anything to a stranger about his credit or reputation for that matter. Ever heard of ambulance chasers?

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! The rudest people I've ever encountered

I 100% agree with the reviews citing extremely poor customer service and overall horrible experiences, wishing I could give zero stars!!!! I am going to be a grad student at CSU next fall and am trying to rent a place from out of state, having a friend help me with showings, etc. while I am away. I have rented with multiple "big, bad" property management companies both in Boulder, CO and Ann Arbor, MI (both college towns with comparable rental markets) and have NEVER had such a difficult, negative, offensive experience! Granted, having a third party involved makes communication/scheduling more complicated, but the unnecessarily rude and defensive attitude I received in communicating with the receptionist, rental agent, AND manager of this company was appalling. They refused to accept responsibility for any mishap or inconvenience that arose. I called to schedule a showing and had to reschedule due to a conflict my friend had. So 20 minutes after I originally spoke to the receptionist, I called to reschedule. I called four times without an answer and left a voicemail on both the main line and the personal voicemail of my agent, Allison, canceling the appointment. When I called a few days later to reschedule, Allison immediately guffawed and said, "Oh yeah, your friend never showed up." Instead of engaging with her negativity, I ignored the comment and continued with the process and got a new appointment. At the appointment, my friend did not see the agent and was let in by the tenant. The agent later insinuated that my friend was lying and could not have possibly seen the property, that she was standing there the entire time, waiting. Allison had the audacity to say about my friend, whom I've known for 18+ years, "I don't mean to start anything between you two, but..." After this, I came and read all the reviews. I agreed with the sentiments expressed but chose to continue at that point because I really liked the property. Later, my friend dropped off a check at the office of the apartment (instead of the property management) and instead of calmly helping me figure out what could have happened and solving the problem, Allison simply said that, again, she "didn't want to start anything" but my friend clearly wasn't pulling through and shouldn't be trusted.I needed a co-signer for my application, so I asked my dad to fill it out. He is a well-respected attorney who has been working in real estate law in Boulder for over 30 years and felt uncomfortable giving them the very extensive info required on the application (SSN, driver's license number, birth date, address, basically all the info needed for a seamless identity theft.) When he tried to talk to the management about this and see if they would be at all flexible with taking less info, he received an EXTREMELY rude email back, saying that his credentials mean nothing and that he shouldn't assume they make him special. With that, I walked away from working with them and decided the property wasn't worth the pain of dealing with these idiots. While I recognize that policies are policies and that, as a business owner, you have to be careful about making exceptions, there is a way to explain that to a potential customer that isn't so demeaning and disrespectful. This thought process applies to my entire experience; that there were extenuating circumstances, miscommunication, etc. that may have made my case more difficult than that of a student living in Fort Collins, but every employee completely mishandled the situation. These people operate on the defensive, immediately seeking to take blame off of themselves, dominate and bully the renter, frankly to the detriment of their business operations. As a business owner, you'd think it would be important to have a positive relationship with the people who you work with...apparently not to these people. Thank god I decided enough wa...

Renter for two leases.

I have rented through Touchstone Properties twice, first time I got probably the only nice person in the office. Every thing went well, left you alone until time to re-rent. That's where the first problems came up. I was charged outrageous amounts on my security deposit. I was charged $60 for screens that broke within the first week. Screens that I was told they were going to fix for free when we were still living there, and another $100 for "cleaning" after I spent 4 hours scrubbing walls. They have some nice properties at OK prices but just beware, they will get you on the security deposit. Also, there are a few nice people that work here, but most are very unpleasant and rude.

Good place to rent IF YOU PLAY hardball and stick to your guns

Okay I worked before doing taxes and helping large corps get ready for audits. I rented from 2011 to 2012. I am a very very picky person. I am college age. When you move in you better take pictures of everything. I took 147! Within two days I took copies of the worst and checkin papers to them. I told them they better file them. I called till they fixed the bad problems. When I moved out They had issues with the carpets I had paid a company to clean. They allow you to find a prof carpet people if you want or they can take care of it. Never whoever you are renting from let them take care of it. They have a deal with a certain company and will charge you like crazy! They were nice and made them clean it again I did not have to contact them. They did ollow thru. Oh and on move in an move out I took video. Even of me opening drawers showing them it was not broken. PS never let companies know what you have. Do not play your cards up front! I waited till I got my deposit back. AND before you cash that thing, If you do NOT agree with the amount, you get it fixed before you touch it. Make em reissue a new one. (I did not have to do) Bc I told them That if they need it I have before and after pics. I made sure that they did a walk thru with me while I have the premove in papers. The lady that did it, DID NOT EVEN HAVE ANY PAPERS WITH HER. She was like, fix this and fix that... dirty this and dirty that. I asked her how much would you charge me if I didnt. 25= 1 light bulb. 30= change batteries in firealarm. 60= fixing closet doors... But most companies charge that or worst. Every time that lady said this needs fixed, I told her to wait and I would look at my papers and said on most things that "Hmmm This was that way when I moved in. It is on page two under the section bedroom 2. I will not fix that!" She was in a hurry and I did not care. She was not nice. She gets paid to do her job, so I expect her to do a good job. And if you rent from anywhere you better make plans to visit their office at least twice or more a month. Make a presence. Demand nicely that they respect you. That you are a person and not unit ###. I payed in person EVERY TIME. It only took ten minutes out of my day! And that paid off because everyone there at ts knew me and my number. Diane is not a social person neither are the other people. They try to show happy faces in person but over the phone they are really brash. But I asked and they have over 300 rentals.. Some have three plus tenants. I am sure They deal with stupid dumba## college kids all the time who are late on rent and destroy property. Mabe they are overworked and underpayed? Remember that they are not a luxury outfit. they are a small company. Just be professional, be smart, and play your cards right. Do not be a push over because these people might run over you (just like everyother rental company!). Take pics and detailed video and fight for deposit. Do not bit#ch and be rude back. Just nicely say I will see you in small claims court. If you do yell, call back and say sorry. It goes a long way!

ALMOST RENTER

I DIDN'T FEEL WELCOME FROM DIANE WHEN TRYING TO RENT A PROPERTY ON LOST LAKE. IT MIGHT OF BEEN BECAUSE I HAVE SECTION 8. SHE ALWAYS HURRIED YOU UP WHEN SPEAKING WITH YOU AND WAS SHORT WITH YOU. THIS IS NOT THE RIGHT ATTITUDE TO HAVE WHEN RENTING A HOME.
