I am a recent graduate of Hair Dynamics. I had a wonderful experience! I went for the full Cosmetology Program thinking I would mostly like hair, but I have to say that I loved ALL of my classes and graduated with a love for hair, Nails AND Skin...I credit my educators for this...they are amazing at what they do and their passion for what they teach is contagious!!! Like I said, I went in thinking I would mostly like Hair, which I do, but the Nail Classes were so much fun!! We learned so much, from Spa Mani's and Pedi's, to artificial nails including Acrylics, Gels, gel Polish, Nail Art...I even got certified in Electric File, which is required in the state of Colorado if you want to use an electric file for artificial nails...my friend went to cheeks and they don't even hold a candle to Hair Dynamics...she has to pay 250 dollars to get Drill Certification and then she has to drive to Denver...which is 2 hours one way...the story is the same in Skin, we got Certifications in Microdermabrasion, and the Skin program, like Nails and Hair, is taught by top notch instructors...I could go on and on, but what i am trying to get across is this: if you are looking into attending Beauty College, you will not find a better school than Hair Dynamics...it is a wonderful school with amazing Teachers and staff, and the school is very nice, they must be doing something right to have been around for so long!
Hair Dynamics is one of the top schools that cares about the students knowing how to do things. The teachers go above and beyond. We get extra certifications that other schools don't offer. --Lynnze M
I am a proud graduate of Hair Dynamics Education Center in Ft Collins, Colorado. I actually moved to Ft. Collins to specifically attend Hair Dynamics. My friend was also an Esthetician graduate of Hair Dynamics and recommended it 100 times over. There simply is no better choice! Hair Dynamics has awesome educators who are always teaching the most up to date techniques in every program, Hair, Skin, Nails. I felt the educators were very strong and knowledgeable in everything they taught. I personally didn't want to short myself so I took the full cosmetology course and obviously was very satisfied. Hair Dynamics teaches you what you need to know in order to succeed : ) From the updo contest in basics, the era contest in Advanced, monthly Honor Roll rewards and their rockin full service product line(Redken, Tigi, OPI and a fantastic skin care line.....HAIR DYNAMICS HAS IT ALL!! You have no limits, it's all you.
this school is a joke! the education is mediocre at best. while most of the staff and educators are good people and generally try to be helpful, the owners and director are somewhat less helpful. they act like the elite of hair schools and have no time for anyone questioning their perfection. its a mess. things are rarely in order and few people ever really know whats going on. things aren't tracked correctly, and i had to retake 2 clases, a baby boards, and a test because they refuse to admit mistakes. they also took 8 months longer than they said to work out the second part of my financial aid, and then refused to give it to me because of "attendance." the director is also disrespectful. last week she call me 'poison' in her school because she couldn't take criticism. if she really knew everything she thinks she does, she would know that i'm trying to keep other students from having the same issues i did. this school violated and abused me in every way possible.
All the instructors are great and were really interested in helping me grow as a student. The Advanced classes showed us a lot of up to date techniques.
I had my Hair and "Gel Rebase" done Friday 2/18/11. Nails done by Emma Lavelle. WOW she did a fantastic job.
First time THERE, Emma made me feel right at home and she knew what she was doing and Staff was great. THANKS so much .. I will be back!!!

I am a current student at Hair Dynamics, and all I can say is this: If you are considering ANY other school in Northern Colorado, don't waste your time or money! Learn from my mistake - I started at another school a year ago - the newest, supposedly world class school in town. Not only was the education mediocre (in many cases deficient), but the school is more concerned with its corporate functioning than the success of the students. After 2 months I had had enough and went to talk to Dale at Hair Dynamics about transferring. While he could only transfer half of my hours (because I had not really learned anything at the other school), it didn't matter to me - it was SO painfully obvious that I had not received anything for my money at the other school and that I needed to start over so that I could have a good foundation.
I'm SO glad I switched schools! Tina and Dale (the owners of Hair Dynamics) have years of experience, both as barbers and salon owners. It is obvious from the first conversation you have with them that their primary concern is to do their best to educate students and give them the best foundation possible for a career in Cosmetology. The instructors at Hair Dynamics are ALL excellent and all have not only a passion for the industry, but also for teaching. That is so vital to having a positive experience - and to learning as much as you can. I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Hair Dynamics and have confidence now that when I graduate I will be able to pass the licensing exam with flying colors the first time, but that I also will have a very solid starting point for my career. I have already started talking to salon owners about employment, and they are all very impressed with the level of education I have received from HD.
If you are comparing schools in the area, be sure to include ALL the programs offered - at HD you receive the typical Cosmetology training, but you also receive certifications in extra programs that other schools don't provide (Microderm Abrasion, Chemical Peels and Electric Drill). This will cost you extra time and money elsewhere, and you need them if you plan on performing any nail or esthetician services.
