I've lived in WNC for 26 years and have never found a guy this good. Most places are back logged for months, or are only fixing regulars. This is Spring time.... peak season for guys like Ed. On a Friday afternoon I dropped a mower and trimmer that had been sitting with old gas for 3 years. Ed called me the following Tuesday during lunch and said "they're ready". The price was beyond fair. He gave a detailed explanation of the repairs and his work. I was so happy with his work, I brought a generator that had been sitting in my garage unused for probably 4 or 5 years with bad gas. A week later.... i got my generator back. Unloaded it from my SUV, turned the shutoff valve on, and on the sencond pull she jumped to life and growled like a pussy cat. Ed is the real deal. He's my guy until further notice!

Ed does awesome work. He got our old blower working in minutes! He also helped me get my race kart running! Also, to anyone reading this review, Ed is NOT a crook. He is very honest and always gets the job done and done well. I would know because I work for him two days a week!

Long story but worth the read... Can't make this up... check it out on all the other reviews.... Ed has stolen again from another trusting customer. Sold his customers lawnmower while promising to repair. AND Ed has nothing to say about it. Pls read on....

I was looking for a shop to work with and trust. Ed encouraged me to come see him for an estimate. My 3 year old Toro mower was rarely used (15 times?) on our mountain vacation home. It still looked new. The drive gear needed work due to hilly terrain and a minor tune up was in order.

I wasn't sure of fixing it or selling it "as is". I ONLY wanted an estimate for the mower before doing anything. Ed said he'd have an estimate in a day or two, saying he was a small and trustworthy place in the hills that could be trusted. He had NO forms, receipts or invoices to offer me as back up to our agreement.

When I did not hear back 3 days later, I called to get the estimate. Ed said he was pleased to have fixed the mower for $82 (not including parts). I reminded Ed he was only to give an estimate, that no work was approved.. Also reminded him that I was strongly considering selling the mower (he said I would be unable to do because nobody would want to buy it!). I said I'd get back in a couple of days to advise when I'd be coming back to pick up the mower and settle up.

I called 3 days later, Ed acted like he had no idea who I was (there's not a whole lot going on there) and I got irritated. Suddenly he remembered and acted surprised that I even had called back! He informed me he sold the mower for $100 (or so he says) AND I still owed $82.50 for the work completed, even after I pointed out that he was double charging for labor…

He got real smooth again and asked for another chance with my other tools so “he could make it up to me”… Returning any money was NOT an option.
I got what I deserved and consider myself lucky to have found a terrible place to do business and have only lost a good quality used lawn mower. It could have been a lot worse...

DO NOT GO THERE IF YOU ARE NEW TO THE AREA! This has happened to someone else.
If you must go there, Don’t leave tools without a receipt.

Called Ed to explain the issue with my ailing snapper self-propelled mower. Couldn't finish the explanation on the phone when he said he knew what the problem was and to bring it right over and he'd fix it. Loaded it up, went over and was good to his word. Great service and a low service bill. Will definitely go back for the next repair.

Ed has looked after our small engines for three years. Tiller, riding mower, leaf blower, chain saw. He is out
standing.

Ed was very knowledgeable about my rider and was able to fix it quickly. He even picked it up and delivered it back to me the next day! I thought I would have to buy a new one so he saved me money. He explained everything he did and even a little more. I will definitely use him again. It's great to find an honest person.
