Installed my geothermal system 8 yrs ago and the coil had to be replaced, "under warranty." I was told that only parts were covered and I had to pay for the labor. Well, $2100 later I have a working unit again. This is to replace a coil in a standing unit in my garage. No attic or crawl space to navigate or extreme temperatures to endure. $$$ for a relatively easy coil replacement the is under warranty. I am disappointed in the value for the services provided. I will search for alternative options for future service.

I have a unit that is on the end of its life. Never once have I felt pressured from Gore Heating and Air to replace the unit. They have always been prompt in fixing the small issues that arise with an end of life unit. Their pricing and customer service is what keeps me coming back. When my unit finally decides to kick the bucket I will be using Gore to replace my unit.

Warning: Rip off and poor customer service!!!!! GORE HEATING & AIR-Do not do business with them! Called for them to service my fireplace: 24 mins worth of work $181.17 to blow off the logs w/ nitrogen. This was after I was told the at the point of making the appointment that the call would be $70 service call and additional for any parts. NO PARTS, 24 mins of work and a bill for $181. Talked w/ owner of business who was extremely rude (Harvey Gore) stated if I didn't want to pay the bill he would turn me over to collections. Also told me that "he may have made out ahead on this one (me), but he may loose on the next one". I have never been spoken to in such a manner. Then proceeded to tell me, "We'll, at least I'm not charging you for the guy he's training!" Do not do business with these people... they will mislead and treat you as if they have no concern for your return business. Mr. Gore was rude, treated me as if I was a child w/ no common sense. Worst customer experience I've had... (paid Bill $182 with a smile and told them to enjoy the change!)

I called to have our geothermo system serviced and Gore wanted to charge us 618.00 plus whatever had to be done which is outrageous, then we got another company to do it for 198.00 for both our units. We found out that Gore's installed our system incorrectly and it has to be corrected.. I called Gores and told them this and they told me they would not do anything about it and i told the sorry tech that i spoke with that it is ashame how they treat their customers and they will pay for my repairs........

I purchased a new heating unit from them and have had to have repairs each winter! When it broke again this year I called for a technician. When he came he didn't look at the unit and charged me a service charge. When they finally came back to check on the unit and said I needed almost $500.00 in repairs. When I called the office to speak with a manager no one called me back for 5 days. When I went to the office to complain I was treated terribly by none other than the owner himself. He all but yelled at me for calling the office too much! I don't reccomend them to anyone!

Overcharging is an understatement. They are highly expensive .. yipee they say they pay the costs for parts under the service agreement, but that is not so. They overcharge for electrician wages to compensate for ANY part they have to pay out of pocket. I estimated 172/ hour. I have a family member that is a surgeon, I am telling you HE is in the wrong field. Oh and wait. 3 times in the past 2 years I have had to wait -- one time, 4 months for a heater part in the middle of winter, 2 months for an A/C part in the late spring and a different A/C part for over a month - a part that they "forgot to order" and then lo and behold - the part came in but they ordered wrong, so now the sitting and wait game begins AGAIN. AND One more thing: Had an appointment to do the free maintenance check in the spring, even before this time when they came out and they never came. I stepped out in the backyard to clean off the BBQ and that is when they called, and apparently If no one answers, they assume they do not have to show up for the appointment. Thing is There were other workers at my house that day , that I had scheduled because of the Appointment with Gore Heating and Air, so I would not have to take another day off to accommodate them. This business is not a loyal business and If I could rate them a 0, I would But 1 star will have to do- but they gladly take my money, and told me that due to all the troubles I have been facing with them, that this trip they did would not be charged, unfortunately they already charged my card and got the money before they made that offer and I told them THAT. They said we'll see what can be done. Now they have no one who remembers saying that . Please PLEASE PLEASE folks - stay away from this business. Life should be happy, not stressed as it is because of dealing with them

good sales people/bad customer service

we purchased a $9500 heat pump, back in 2009. this unit was said to be one of the quietest, Installers were good. There was packaging materials inside the unit, making a shredded mess, so they came back out and took the material out, and said they didn't know if it should of been removed or not, they would let us know what it was,, still don't know.. The inspectors came a year later. with in 6 months, this unit went to banging like a loud gun when it shuts off. So we called for service,they came, and one guy changed out a few things, and no avail, still bangs. so we kept calling, and the owners son comes out,and tells us to tape record it.. REALLY ! sooo, he comes and records it. that was back in 2012, and he has NEVER called us back on this. called again, they had no record of the recording.. duhh.. 2013, we do our service, they also hear the loud bang, nothing done. 2014, came, heard banging, they just don't know why, but we have to put up w/loud banging,,below our bedroom window. they sure sounded good before we choose them, and now they just put you off, hoping you will shut up. We will never hire this company again. great warranty,, not.. just giving them 200 more a year, for bad service. o, ur neighbor also has a York unit and it is quiet, when it cuts off its smooth. but they say its normal.. we know it isnot.

Terrible Service!

My family purchased a $9,000 heat pump/air unit from Gore last July! After installation we scheduled 6 month service. We also request copies of the service manual / owners manual. Well, nearly 9 months later no service, no manuals, no copies of warranty paper work. We called and they came out and performed service and replaced a filter. A month after that we get a late notice on the service when we never received any billing in the first place. Additionally, the 10 MONTH OLD unit was malfunctioning (NOT WORKING) and required work. This was May 2014. The came right out and serviced same and stated it needed a part. The part was ordered and scheduled for replacement the next day. They called and said they could not get to us until the following Monday. Monday came, they said they had the wrong part but would be back Tuesday with correct part. Tuesday they never returned call for service. We called back they said they would be there Wednesday morning with the correct part. Wednesday (5/14/14) comes, they disable the system for work and then tell us they gave the part to another customer and would order another one for us to install on Thursday? I intent on contacting the manufacture and requesting any further warranty work be conducted by another firm with better customer service.

Great Service!

Gore heating and air installed a geo thermal system for me in 2010. They added more vents in the house and for the first time in fourteen years the house was comfortable on both levels in the summer and winter. When I had some problems this winter during cold and snowy weather they examined the system, replaced parts and got the system operating again. In addition to the comfort, this system has lowered my electric bill considerably.Gore heating is an innovative, competent, caring and compassionate company. The company's response to customer needs is excellent and they follow up on their service. I highly recommend this company and would give it a 5 star rating. Lisa H. Sanford, North Carolina

Great Service!

Outstanding Company with great service!!! I was in need of a ductless system for my sunroom and a new heat pump for my house. I called Gore Heating &A/C and they quickly scheduled an appointment and gave me a detailed estimate. They finished installing my heat pump in one day ensuring my family had heat. From start to finish this company was a class act. Workers and technicians were prompt and extremely professional. I have never been more satisfied with my new Trane, and look forward to my new savings. But what I really enjoy is my new Mitsubishi Mini Split in my sunroom, where we can now use this space in the winter. It’s nice to know there are still companies in Fayetteville that put the customer first.

Great Service!

This company was fantastic! The techs there are great they explain everything in detail and they make you feel like a friend not just a customer. Everything was done in a timely manner. And they did exactly what they said they would do, when they said they would do it. From this experience I have referred my friends and family here and they have enjoyed the service as well!

terrible service delightful receptionist

My story starts in late May when I called gore heating AC as a new customer. I spoke to their lovely receptionist Belinda and she guided me through the process of being a new customer for a new unit my husband wanted. She sold me a yearly agreement an was so delightful laughing with me. I told her I would discuss what size system with my husband and call her in June. I did! I asked for her because she was the type of person who wanted to help me. I put in for an appointment for the owner Nick to come do an estimate for me. After not hearing from Nick, I called Belinda and she told me he was in meetings and was running behind. I informed that I was not happy an she politey explained that the company would take care of me not to worry. She put me a presumable hold an I heard her tell him don't forget about me. This man yelled at her like a child about her not telling him about my impending estimate but fine he would be on the way to fix her mistake and she gave him my address an phone number. Now Im MAD because this girl didn't deserve that over my job! I was going to cancel my estimate but Belinda helped me through again. So, I waited and Nick never showed to my house nor did he call me! That was very disrespectful for my business to blatently be disregarded as such. I called Belinda back an told her that I was referred by several of their loyal customers and it seemed the only good thing this company had was her!! She calmed me down and we laughed. The customers that referred me told me to ask for Belinda only and I'm glad i did, she was my saviour in this situation. I went with another company to get my AC and ended up needing to replace all 10 of my AC units. However, I will not forget that very pleasant receptionist they had. In June, I called for Belinda and spoke to guy name Rich that said she no longer worked there!! The guy was snotty and treated me like get off the phone asking for her! This is just another reason not to go with Gore heating an AC! I hope the circumstances of her departure was hers because she was their only asset. I'm a very influential person of this city and will make sure everyone knows how Nick treated me as a customer an that poor girl as a worker. He obviously didn't want my 10 unit sale or he would've given me a simple phone call back to explain that he would see me at a different time. No he just threw Me aside. I only hope that this company figures out how to be a good business! On a good note, I happen to call budget rooter plumbing company for service and to my surprise, yes my wonderful receptionist answered the phone. That company will get all my business as well as everyone I know because that girl knows how to treat people as a valued customer! I will be calling the better business bureau next!

HORRIBLE SERVICE

To whom it may concern: I am writing to inform you of my dissatisfaction with the company that you dispatched to service my existing air conditioning unit. I have been a faithful customer of AHS for more than 10 years and have never received such poor service from any company than Gore Heating & Air Conditioning. This is the first time that this particular company has been dispatched to perform any services at any of my residences, therefore I am not sure if this is a newly added company to the AHS list of companies to do business with. On Wednesday 4/10/2013, we placed a call to AHS concerning our A/C unit that was not functioning properly. On Thursday, 4/11/13 Gore Heating and A/C was dispatched and came to my residence to service the A/C unit however after inspection of the unit, they provided a written work order that stated bad compressor along with a few other things. The paperwork also stated that they would “call with an estimate.” We are reminded that temperatures in Fayetteville NC were well into the 80’s since 4/11/13 which meant that the temperature inside of my home was reading over 90 degrees. This is also pollen season which meant that open windows would lead to pollen getting into the house and there are several people in my home who suffers from pollen allergies. By 12:00 pm Monday 4/15/13 we had not received any information regarding the unit or when Gore would return to complete the work required to bring the A/C to an operational state, therefore I placed a call to Gore and the man that answered stated he would try to locate the paperwork and call me back. By 3:30pm, he had not called back, and a 2nd call was placed to Gore to find out the status. This time a lady stated that she would find out what was going on and call back. By 7:00pm, a call was placed to AHS who pulled up the file and advised that she too was waiting on Gore to get back with them to provide information on the existing unit. After answering a few questions and providing AHS with the information that they were attempting to obtain from Gore, the AHS rep sent an email to Gore requesting that they contact me ASAP to complete the work. On Tuesday morning 4/16/13 around 7am, I received a call on my way to work from a woman at Gore asking if “anyone called me back about my A/C” to which I advised, NO, which is why I initiated a call to AHS to find out what was going on. She then advised that they had to order the part and that the technician would come to the house on Thursday afternoon to install the part and complete the work. On Wednesday 4/17/13 at 1:30pm, I received a call from the technician advising that the part had arrived and that he’d like to set up an appointment to come out to install it. It was at that time that I informed him of the call the day prior and an already scheduled appointment to which he seemed confused. He stated that he’d find out what was going on and call me back. . On Thursday 4/18/13 at 8:15am, I received a call from a lady at Gore stating that they would not be able to install the part today (4/18/13) as scheduled but will now be installing the part on Friday morning 4/19/13. I informed the lady that I could not keep going days without air conditioning and that this was beyond ridiculous and I’d be contacting AHS regarding their company. I am requesting that AHS never dispatch Gore Heating & Air to any of my residences again, this includes my rental properties.

Reliable and timely!

After 6 years of American Home Shield putting band aids on our ancient, obsolete unit 2-3 times per year, we finally determined that it was time to replace it even though AHS was avoiding it. We called Gore Heating and Air and received a same day appointment for a free estimate. We were told exactly what we did need and exactly what we did not need (most will try to make it look like you need EVERYTHING) and were linked with a finance specialist over the phone and approved within hours. We were not rushed, there was just no beating around the bush, we were treated as an urgent situation considering our home was 92 degrees and we have a 3 year old, they were booked full of appointments and squeezed us in even at such last minute demand because we were utterly miserable in our house. That same day some guys from the company showed up with window AC units to tide us over through the night. That was day 1. Day 2, around 9am, the guys showed up and worked long and hard all day but there was still so much left to be done. They left the window units with us and returned the following business day, completed the job after working from 9am until close to 7pm (they could have left at 5, but they stayed). The boss came out to inspect that everything was done and working properly, showed us how to use our new thermostat. By the end of the day we were up and running and in no time at all our house began to feel chilly, woohoo! Wouldn't use any other company, highly insist that everyone please give their business to Gore Heating and Air!!!!

When I called to make an appointment, I was told that I would be told upfront if I needed to pay anything above the service charge. Needless to say, my bill was $150 more. I just went ahead and paid it, but received a bill the next month for the full amount. After three phone calls and faxing in proof of payment, it still hasn't been resolved.

Poor service and over charging

At first they seemed to give good service. But when I was made a widow they began to take advantage of me. Like over charging me for parts. Replacing parts at my cost only after they were replaced a few months previously. Double charging me for my service contract. Chargind for trips when they forgot the part they needed and new what was needed in advance. In all I would steer clear of this business.
