OPEN NOW - Closes at 5:00pm

Avoid! Possibly out of business or on the way to it. It took three tries just to find them open during their stated "business hours", and when I finally found them open the staff was rude and seemed uninterested in doing any work. I ended up speaking with a crotchety old woman named "Joan" who was quite off-putting. Needless to say, I took my business elsewhere. The website also appears to have been shut down and is for sale, so it looks like they are in the process of shutting down.

I can't tell you how Framery One does as a frame store because I haven't made it through the door yet. I called a few days ago at 3:30 p.m. and asked what time it closed. Four o'clock, came the answer (though the store's website, I later noted, says 5 p.m.). OK, I said, I'm on my way -- not for anything time-consuming, but just to grab a ready-made frame. I zipped over, pulled into the lot, and found the lights out and the door locked -- at 3:51.



I've worked retail, and we used to close a bit early sometimes, too. But I can guarantee we never did it when we knew a customer was on his way.



That seemed odd enough that I decided to tell the owner/manager about it. Heck, if it was my business, I'd want to know. I've now called twice and been told to call back days later, when the elusive Joan might be around. Oddly, when I dialed in just a few minutes ago, there was a ring, a few seconds of silence, and then a male voice distinctly saying, "Bleep you." (Note: He used a distinctly more direct word than "bleep.") So I hit redial, asked the fellow who answered whether Joan was there, was told to call back on Thursday -- five days from now -- and then asked, "Was it you who moments ago said, 'Bleep you"?



No, the fellow said, he hadn't answered the phone for 30 minutes or so. What probably happened was that he didn't realize he had picked up a call and told someone else, "Bleep you." Somehow, that doesn't make me feel any more welcome at Framery One.
