Established in 1969, Tunxis Community College serves more than 7,000 part- and full-time students in credit and continuing education classes. The college offers a range of associate s degree and certification programs. Tunxis Community College is accredited by the Connecticut Board of Governors for Higher Education and the New England Association of Schools and College. It offers courses in accounting, business education, art, astronomy, aviation science, biology, biomedical engineering, marketing, finance, Chinese, and communication and broadcasting. The college coordinates degree courses in allied health, arts and media, business and finance, criminal justice, early childhood education, human services, and engineer science and technology studies. Tunxis Community College also offers distance learning opportunities to students.
