We went on opening day, they had a great deal - each person $1. Despite previous comments, it's not windy and cold, I would imagine they went on a bad day. It was hot and enjoyable. There was a slight breeze on this day which made it very relaxing. Being the first day, the kitchen as literally out of half of the menu, but that was the only downfall. Compared to other public pools in 50 mile radius, I would choose this. So, I give it 5 stars.

I soooo want to give this a five star rating, but, sadly, this pool is no longer what it once was. It is located right off the construction for the new gateway connector and with the mountaintop removal and destruction of the forest area that existed on the ridge, the wind now whips thru the valley and funnels itself up the interstate (I-79) and blasts across this pool. Making everyone shake and shiver even in the blazing hot days of summer when it is humid and sticky. The pool itself is well-maintained and when the buzzer goes off for the waves to start the kids all scream with delight and run into the water with their intertubes, (available for rent if you forgot to bring your own). There is also a waterslide that lands into a smaller pool (no swimming in this one--for slide landing only!) that is separately lifeguarded by kind-hearted and generous guys & gals who take the time to encourage the scared little ones on their first trip down. Mid-July - Aug prior to 3:30PM best
