My Mom loves to call this home

Just returned home from visiting my mother who is a resident at Homestead Village. She loves living there with her many new friends. During our visit we ate dinner at the Pub and had a great meal. Mom had a great time showing off her grandchildren to her friends and the staff. Goodbyes are always hard but knowing mom is well taken care of makes it much easier when we have to leave.

On behalf of the administration office of Homestead Village, we wish to express our deepest regret if Ms. Looney or anyone else has ever experienced anything less than a warm welcome and helpful attitudes from the Homestead staff. Unfortunately, try as we have, we have been unable to identify Ms. Looney’s relationship with us or the event to which she makes reference.

Instant public expression is truly a remarkable achievement. When used with discretion and positive intent it can be an amazingly effective resource. Unfortunately it can also be used unfairly and without the personal courtesies typical of human to human interaction. We regret not being given the opportunity to address any real or perceived issue with Ms. Looney personally and continue to seek such an opportunity.

Our entire staff is aware through our hiring practices and continued training that we honor a “no gift” policy. Employees may not accept gifts from residents including money, either directly or through bequeath for the duration of their employment. In point of fact they are not even allowed to act as witness for legal documents. This prohibition was established to dispel even the hint of impropriety and it will continue to be our policy.

Homestead Village of Fairhope has been stably owned and operated for the past 15 years by Community Senior Life. CSL is a not-for-profit charitable organization who has no shareholders, investors, or other entities that profit from our company, nor does “financial” appear anywhere in our name. What does appear in locations too numerous to count are the phone number and address for Homestead. We encourage anyone who has a question or a problem to use them at any time.

Don't allow anyone you care for to go there.

The ladies in the office allowed residents who have appliances that are not working to wait for weeks to have the appliance replaced.

When I went to look with my friend before they moved in the lady made an odd comment about being in her will? How unprofessional even it was a "joke" I was appalled.

It is about the money it is NOT about the care. The women in the office are truly oblivious or more accurate they could care less.

Nothing will change my mind about Homestead Village. Ask yourself why does it have 'financial' after it's title now.
