She earned her undergraduate degree in physiology and neurobiology at the University of Maryland (UMD) in College Park.  She went on to complete her dental degree at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry and further expanded her skills and knowledge with a Master of Science at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in Richmond.
