The Fairfax County Police Department offers a variety of services, such as community policing and statistics, criminal reporting and investigations, domestic violence prevention and street crime interdiction. The department also provides several support services, including gun registration, fingerprinting, animal control, and traffic and parking law enforcement. The Fairfax County Police Department has been operational for more than 60 years and maintains a district station in Fairfax, Va.
