Skinny's was built in 1955 as The Curtiss Sawmill. In 1969 Don Deck purchased the sawmill and remoldeled it into a bar called the halfway House because it was located halfway between Fairbanks and Nenana. In 1981, Skinny;(Richard Hiland) Purchased the halfway house and added the inn. In 1985 He changed the name to Skinny Dick's Halfway Inn. Skinny passed away in May 2008. The bar still remains SKINNY DICK'S HALFWAY INN!
