I have had several dealings with Mr. Von Arx over the past three decades and I have always found him to be accommodating, helpful, knowledgeable, compassionate, understanding and amiable. His pracice is run out of a conveniently-located old private house on River Road which tends to give him and the office an old-fashioned, comfortable feel. (No intimidating corporate attitude here!) But he is very current in his knowledge of the law and his advice is based on that knowledge and his grasp of the human character. His long-time secretary, Carol, is also very pleasant and helpful and is one of those jacks-of-all-trades who knows her way around that office and appears to be von Arx's right-hand-lady (without her usurping the legal role of the attorney)



Unlike most legal experiences, dealings with Mr. von Arx are pleasant and chatty yet they, unlike big legal issues such as criminal law, move along quickly. And his fees seem reasonable to me (although I am not an expert on that issue).



If you are in need of a personable and knowledgeable lawyer, you can't go wrong with Brooks von Arx.
