Trying to get my house ready for the masters. Needed a quick lawn service for upcoming guests. The guys came out and did a wonderful job on my yard. Thank you!

Absolute worst experience ever! The office women are rude, I was charged more than quoted on an irrigation issue (even though the problem was exactly what they thought it would be...the extra $60 was for 2 workers, instead of just 1 to do the job in less than 2 hours). It took 5 weeks for them to come cut down a tree. Then it was left in my front yard for 2 days! I spent many hours over the course of a week pulling roots out the ground myself (something they said was included). I actually cancelled 2 other jobs with this company because I would rather have an eye sore for a yard than have this very unprofessional, unreliable, overpriced, excuse for lawn care come anywhere near my yard again. Be warned! Stay away from this company.

Dustin Van House and his company, Bulldawg Total Landscape, started landscaping my backyard in July 2010. This review is late in coming because as of today the job is still not complete. A review surrounding those circumstances will be coming in the near future. Right now let me list the issues I had during the time the job started until Dustin and his crew departed the job site.



1. The job started in July 2010 and Dustin departed the job site in October 2010. This job should have only taken 3 weeks to complete if it was managed properly but instead it took 3 months.

2. I lodged several complaints about leaving trash (fast food containers, tobacco products, drink containers) behind in my yard at the end of the work day.

3. I lodged several complaints about securing the fence to ensure my dogs didn't get out. There were times the gate(s) were left open or entire sections of fence were not put back in place at the end of the day. On more than one occasion my dogs had to be returned to my home by neighbors on the other the other side of the neighborhood.

4. Workers broke several sections of pre-existing artistic curbing.

5. The stone mason quit a week into the job and while Dustin Van House said he could do the work to keep the job on track he never did. Instead I waited several weeks for him to find another stone mason. The only one he could get was only willing to work in the evenings after he finished from another job site. This entailed only being able to do stone work for about 2-3 hours each day they showed up. Some days no one showed. This was one of the contributing factors into the prolonging of the job.

6. My entire back yard was re-sodded prior to the completion of stone retaining/garden walls. The stone masons trampled over the new sod tearing it completely apart and creating large mud holes. When I asked Dustin Van House to replace the damaged sod he refused stating it would grow in when the spring and summer months came around. It has not grown in and this incident is the topic of my second complaint.

7. I lodged several complaints about leaving equipment behind for prolonged periods of time. Many times there would be heavy equipment parked in front of my house for weeks at a time while no one was physically at my home working. This caused the neighbors to complain.

8. Throughout the whole process Dustin Van House was difficult to communicate with. There were weeks at a time where no one would show up to do any work. I would attempt to contact Dustin Van House and couldn't. His voice mail was full so I could not leave a message. If I could leave a message he wouldn't call back within a reasonable time frame. I would call the office to make contact and still couldn't contact him. You will find this pattern of behavior in all complaints against him.

9. As if the previous complaints were not enough the one that takes the cake is this - prior to job completion Dustin Van House asked if I could pay him the balance of what I owed him. The reason for this request? He was going to Hawaii on vacation and needed the money. I informed him that I would pay the balance when the job was completed. Dustin took his Hawaiian vacation and while he was gone no one showed up to work on my yard.



My recommendation - DO NOT HIRE HIM OR BULLDAWGS TOTAL LANDSCAPE!!!

Always leave my yard looking amazing!!! Using them for 8 years now!

They are really a great service company! Dustin was very informative for our lawn service needs and totally renovated our poorly landscaped new yard. The builder a product of Crown, need I say more, left us with a poorly sodded yard with more weeds than grass! Dustin and his crew has been cutting and treating our lawn for three months and you can see a big difference! We thought our lawn was unsalgeable but, Dustin insisted he could get it right without replacing it and he delivered!!! Couldn't be happier with the service good luck in the future Dustin I know you will do great!!!
