The first Waffle House restaurant was opened on Labor Day in 1955 in Avondale Estates, Ga. Since then, it has grown into a chain of more than 1,500 company and franchise-owned casual restaurants in over 25 U.S. states. It serves a variety of waffles, steaks, omelets, hamburgers, country ham, pork chops and grits. The restaurant serves specialty dishes, such as Bert's chili, Walt s soup, Alice s iced tea and Lib's patty melt. It offers hash browns in eight different ways. Waffle House serves more than 3 million pounds of grits each year and over 10,000 T-bone steaks each day. Apart from serving food, the restaurant supports various health and human service organizations, youth and education programs, and disadvantage and other civic causes. It conducts in-house events and programs, such as The Great Miller Lite Chili Cook-off and the Waffle House World Waffle Eating Championship.

I came early in the morning after calling twice for a order out they didn’t answer the phones and I arrived with only two tables being occupied. The staff was extremely rude especially to each other. She made a simple order of eggs and bacon complicated and rang it up wrong after three clarifications from me. Ridiculous circumstances

TERRIBLE!!!!

We ate at this Waffle House on 16 February 2009, at around 9:30am. It was TERRIBLE!! The service was awful, it took 15 minutes just to get seen by a server. The restaurant was dirty and had extremely uncomfortable seating. The restaurant was out of gravy and when asked if they would make a custom order of French Toast the cook responded with "I don't have any, and I don't know how". The server brought out burnt waffles and explained that the manager made her ask if they were okay to serve to us. The bacon was only cooked on one side, the omelet was overcooked and the bacon with our other meal was so over cooked it fell apart when you touched it. I would never recommended this restaurant to anyone.
