Provided by YP.comI was excited about having take out from Sam's China Bistro, given the recent positive reviews.
I ordered take out, and the servers were polite. The decorations were unique.
When I got home, I served the food to my family. My wife and I and noticed a bizarre sour taste to the chicken dishes. Upon closer inspection, I noticed a rancid odor to the chicken - they sold us spoiled chicken!
Unfortunately, we ate some of the spoiled chicken, and are now battling stomach sickness.
I have since reviewed the city-county health department website, and have discovered that this restaurant has recently struggled with failing scores. I will be getting detailed reports through open public records, and have filed a complaint with this department so no one else gets sick.

Provided by YPmobileThe food was absolutely the worst food I've had in years. The noodles in my food were regular Italian spaghetti noodles. The Dan Dan my husband ordered was disgusting. We were forgotten about the whole time. When going to pay even though we didn't eat our food they still made us pay full price. DO NOT EAT HERE EVER! worst service and food!!!

Provided by YP.comSo far, in El Paso, this is the best chinese food I have found. The service is excellent and the food actually has flavor. El Paso has horrible restaurants and the service usually sucks. THIS place is good on both!!!

Provided by YP.comI totally agree with you(the fist reviewer). The restaurant is unique. Like no other restaurants in El Paso. Customers get to choice to seat on a chair or a comfortable sofa. The dishes are very nicely presented on different shape of fine china. You would expect to pay a bundle for it. But pleasant surprise. One only have to pay $4-$9 for lunches or dinners. They offer togos and free delivery.
My kids love their little animals and the luge fish tank.
And I love their freshly prepare honey pineapple chicken sever on a fresh pineapple. It only cost me about $9.00 with rice. WHAT A DEAL!!!! They are open every day for my needs until 9:30P.m.

Provided by YP.comJust walking in, you already know this is going to be a pleasant experience. As you are warmly greeted, you cannot help but to look up at the beautiful lighting and then drawn to the elegance of the room. No sitting on uncomfortable lumpy booths or hard wooden chairs here people. If you are expecting that, there may be an Applebees or Denny's near by.
The ambiance is so perfect.
And the MENU - "finally" a different choice of foods. You will still find your favorites, but be prepared to be swept away by their other dishes. You must try the "Ocean Platter". So So delicious.
The Prices! What a deal! Lunch menu is at the $5.95 range and their sensational dinner menu, you can't beat those prices. The dinner entree's start at $6.95 and the most expensive item is maybe in the $9.00 range and that is for some really fun tasting exotic food.
It was and is a great experience and I can't get enough of it. It is so delicious (and don't forget the healthy veggies) that I'm even eating dishes that I thought I would have ever even tried before. It is just as good as it is described on the menu.
But "DRIVER BEWARE", it is very easy to drive rignt on past it and never knew you did. I'm from El Paso and I have even had to make a few U-turns now and then. Just look for the "Surgical Eye Center" and right next door is China Star. There is a very thick tall welded black fence between the two, and if you're not aware, you will pass it without even knowing you were there.
Believe me, you will not be disappointed! The China Star Bistro is the Best in our lower Northeast and Dyer community and possibly the best I've tasted in El Paso!
