Excellent experience with the First Med Team in Edmond. The staff was friendly, the wait time was short, and Dr. Pourtorkan was exceptional. It is hard to find a great doctor out there, but Dr. Pourtorkan was very compassionate and explained everything so well. I will be sure to recommend First Med Urgent Care in Edmond to all of my friends and family members.

I have had nothing but great experiences with this clinic including my visit last night where I was met at the desk by "Luke" who greeted me with a smile and was very professional and processed my paper work in record time. "Kathy K." was my nurse and this my 2nd or 3rd experience with her. She has always been very personable, genuine and concerned about my symptoms and the care that I would require. "Nani Parsons, PA-C" was my PA and I really liked her! She greets you with a smile that doesn't end and takes the time to listen, question and then address the best way to take care of your health needs. The office is very clean from front to back - and I will continue to recommend this location because it has remained over the three years that I have utilized their services as a positive and consistent experience. Awesome job gang! I appreciate YOU!

First Med in Edmond is the best. The only place our family goes in need of urgent care.

The staff, Drs. and PAs are great. Thank you Nicole for all the help over the years.

After my visit last week I was sent an email and thanked for my business. Beyond just thanking me they genuinely wanted to get my feedback in order to better themselves. After reading the reviews below I am shocked. I had a great experience and will be back in the future as needed. I think that they have listened to the customers and are striving to better themselves.

Poor PA listening skills

First off, my husband and I have been to this clinic before it moved to this new location dozens of times over the last 10 years, after these two last visits I would rather throw away my money. I went in on my lunch break on a Friday for a sinus infection that I was starting to get. No computers were working and so everyone was having to use their own hands to enter info into the charts so it took 45 mins even with just one person in front of me. After being diagnosed with my sinus infection, the PA (not dr) ordered a 10 dose of an antibiotic that I have taken in the past that is Proven not to be effective on me. After mentioning this to the PA and telling her that this drug also caused a secondary infection in me 100% of the time, she states that's okay just call me if it does and we can order something for the second infection, bc it is "proven" that your said antibiotic does not work against sinus infections, but take this steroid shot and I bet you $10 you feel better in 3 hours; if not fill the antibiotic tomorrow; well needless to say I had to fill the prescription that next morning and here I am 11 days later with a raging sinus infection. Did I mention that I called their office on Monday, 3 days after my appt to see if they could order the antibiotic that I originally requested bc I was feeling worse and not better. Well she doesn't work until Wednesday and you will have to be Re evaluated before they can order another antibiotic. That's super! Later on in the week, my husband starts having terrible sinus pain and pressure and I drive him to the same clinic and lucky us we get the same delightful PA; I decided to ask her about it. When I went in my husband was waiting on the PA to bring his prescriptions. The nurse came in and gave them to us and dismisses us, so I ask if the PA can come in so we can talk to her. When she came back i reintroduced my self and asked about the antibiotic that she had prescribed my husband and myself because he was asking for the same kind of antibiotic I was wanting instead of this other kind that was supposed to fix the sinus infection in 7 days; she again mentioned that the medicine we were suggesting doesn't work against sinus infections, and then she pulls out the "hon, I have been doing medicine for 15 years and I know what I'm doing". " you can fill those prescriptions if you want. " and then she just walked out. So we walked out and threw the 4 prescriptions away that she had prescribed and headed on down to Mercy, where they Listened to our history of sinus infections and what has previously worked in "the bodies we have had for 30 something yrs". Shame on her, not listening to the pt! We were not rude, condescending, and trying to tell her what to do but simply asking for what has worked for us in the past. Day 5 is today and the last day of my husbands antibiotics that the DR ordered from Mercy after hours and he is feeling super. Day 11 and I will be heading to the mercy after hours if I can't get in to see my PcP in the morning. Shame on you Nikki miller, your title has went your head and you are doing a disservice with how you approach patients that have an opinion. I hope you never get a sinus infection, but if you do make sure you take the medicine you prescribed me and a preventive for that Raging yeast infection that will probably follow!

If you like waiting for hours,...

If you like waiting for hours, then being turned away by rude front office people with bad attitudes, please feel free to go to the First Med at Kelly and Covell. I don't think Dr. Bill Edwards remembers that he took a hippocratic oath.

I've been coming to this clini...

I've been coming to this clinic for at least 10 years now, probably longer. The last two experiences I have had, however, have left me needing to find a new place to go. A few months ago my daughter had been running a fever, and had a sore throat. I took her in after about 3 days, and they wouldn't give her antibiotics. The Dr. said it would probably get better in a few days. 3 more days go by, still has fever. Took her back, insisted on antibiotics, she was better in 24 hours. She missed 6 days of school, 3 days needlessly. Took my son today, told he has a bacterial infection, given antibiotics. He has alot of pain in his lower back, and I asked for some mild pain medication to help him until antibiotics kick in. I was told to go to the emergency room is he needed pain meds. What's the purpose of going to Med First if they aren't going to treat you for what you came in for? I wasn't asking for hard core drugs, just maybe 3 or 4 muscle relaxers to help him for the 1st 24 hours. It's been new doctors every couple of years since Dr. Touhy left. I get the feeling they don't care about the patients, just the insurance money. Save yourself some time and repeat visits, go somewhere else!
