Melvin H. Kreps Middle School, established in 1968, is a coeducational school providing education to students in grades six through eight. It offers courses in language arts, math, science, social studies and physical education. Its language arts and reading curriculum provides students with opportunities to engage in listening, speaking, reading and writing. Its writing program emphasizes on clarity in composition, grammar, spelling, and vocabulary. Its world languages program offers courses in Spanish, French and German. It additionally provides health education programs and computer labs with Internet access, word processing and graphics capabilities. It also offers a wide range of co-curricular activities, such as band, chorus, musicals, one-act plays, intramural sports, newspaper, yearbook and homework club. The sports programs include soccer, cross country, field hockey, cheerleading, wrestling, basketball, tennis, track, softball and baseball.
