Look at another facility. Their office manager took a leave of absence and they can't run insurance right now. So asking for full payment and then the patient has to work with insurance. 11/1/2022

Have found the staff and doctors to be top notch and very professional. Whenever anyone I know mentions needing a dentist, I always say Aspen. Not just any Aspen, but East Peoria

My 8 year old chipped his tooth at school last week. Being new to the area, we do not have a dentist yet so we were pleased when Aspen Dental in East Peoria, IL got us in so quickly. We were between insurances so the dentist gave my son a quick exam and x-ray to determine there was no serious damage. We scheduled an appointment for this week once my insurance kicked in. My son was to have an exam, more x-rays and was to get the tooth filled. I even called this week to go over what would be done and was told, "if the dentist has time she will fill it, if not we will have you come back." So today was this appointment, I took a half day off work, got my son out of school and drove 30 minutes to this appointment. Once I got there I was told that the dentist will give him the exam but will not do any fillings on him since he is under 13. I was blown away. Why was this not mentioned last week (this was the same dentist that had seen him) and why was I never called to explain this before showing up to the dentist today? No one could answer that question for me. I can!!! It is because Aspen was hoping to collect some insurance money from doing the exam and knew damn well they were never going to fill my 8 year old's tooth. Why else would the dentist never have mentioned that she didn't do repair work on 8 year olds when she was examining him.





I am disgusted at the poor service from the dentist especially. She should have gone over this when she examined him for his chipped tooth which was the only reason we were there anyway.
