Absolutely awful! This is not an urgent care facility and should not advertise its self as one! 3 hour wait for a prescription no on has! Disgusting misrepresentation of urgent care! It is a doctors office that makes you wait hours for poor service! Outraged!

I went to this clinic because I was in town for a business trip, and I was very pleased with the professionalism of the staff and of the physician himself (Dr. Beason?). The doctor was very knowledgeable and yet had an easy going manner, I wish my regular doctor was this good. There was a pharmacy practically next door so I was able to get my meds and get going quickly. There was a good hour of waiting to get seen by the doctor, that's true, and that's pretty normal for an urgentcare office (an ER would have been worse). While I hope that I never need their services again, it's good to know that they are there.

This last review was from 2009. I have to say this is a fantastic clinic. The staff is friendly not stobbish like so many practices theses days. The physician are the best. They listen, treat, and release you. They were so good to my late husband when he was fighting cancer and could not alway get to his dcotors in Boston.

Hardly a wait at all. Thank you Cherter Oak.

Bad service

I waited for an hour and saw how three people who had arrived after me were called in. I appoached the receptionist who informed me they were given priority because they were sick and I was only waiting for a flu shot. I asked her how much longer it was going to be for me because I did not want to get sick waiting around other sick people. She went back to ask, returned, and without saying a word, sat down and continued working on her desk. Once again I approached her and asked how much longer. She said they could not give me an answer. I decided to leave without the shot. If you think this is fair and good service, and would like to be treated this way, by all means go to them and sponsor this type of business.

Dear 4corners, I am sorry that you felt you had a negative experience at Charter Oak Wlak- In. There are some instances when a patient who comes here, does not need to be seen by a Provider, but just needs testing of some sort. We do Urine drug screen collections and Breath alcohol screening for many local employers and for Merchant Marine exams. We also read PPDs (TB testing) and collect various types of lab specimens that get sent out to our reference labs. When patients come in for those types of services, they do not wait for one of the Providers, but for a Med Assistant instead. That may very well have been the case when you were here that day. In addition, we have a separate waiting room, so if you are here just for a shot, a Physical exam, or a test, you need not wait in the general waiting room along with our sicker patients. Please ask the receptionist to direct you to the alternate waiting area. For families with younger children, that waiting area is equipped with a DVD player and movies to keep your children engaged while you wait. That being said, since we are an Urgent Care practice, there are times when patients who have more emergent problems are, of course, taken ahead of time and out of sequence. Some examples of that would be chest pain, allergic reaction, bee stings, burns, eye injuries...etc, otherwise, we make every effort to take patients in the order that they arrive and check in. Sometimes new patients are still filling out registration forms while an established patient, who may have come in after you, gets processed ahead. I hope this answers some of your concerns. Should you ever have a question or problem that you feel is not being addressed to your satisfaction, please feel free to ask for the supervisor, or the practice manager for further assistance. Patient satisfaction is very important to us. Sincerely, Sue Anne Podaski RT Clinical Supervisor Charter Oak Walk In Medical Center 324 Flanders Rd East Lyme, CT 06333 760 739-6953
