The East Hartford Department of Public Works is responsible for fleet management and building maintenance services. The department, administered by the town of East Hartford in Connecticut, employs more than 65 full-time people. Its engineering division reviews technical design plans and drafts the designs of various complex municipal improvement projects. The East Hartford Department of Public Works maintains a highway services division that offers maintenance solutions for town roads, flood dikes, bridges, cemeteries, pavement markings, streetlights and traffic signs. In addition, the department s waste services division is responsible for the collection of over 26,000 tons of rubbish annually. It provides monitoring services for nearly 20 public buildings.
